Pretty much useless. Very pleasant people employed by the company but they are almost completely useless. Like interviewing criminals, one must use multiple lines of questioning to get facts from online reps. And then you must reframe it back to them in the most basic way to make sure that they understand what they are saying - because they don't. Its bizarre.

This has to be the worst company as a provider, they have outsourced all their customer service. and they have no idea what they are doing even thou you are telling them the problem . Asked they to come do a meter reading and they want to charge us for there error . They say go on the budget plan and it will all work out .What they don't tell you is it never works itself out just keeps adding up till your bill is over 5k . And they say its your problem . This company should be kick to the curb and out as being a provider . Thief's is all they are

Without warning, our electricity & gas bill skyrocketed to nearly double the price yet our consumption was lower than it has been the past several months before. We (in the month of March and April) are now paying over $600 a month for utilities. This company is a disaster, don’t let them swindle you into signing up with them unless you enjoy paying twice as much as what the competition has to offer.

You will be hit with high rates no matter what! They plan to not help you but rip you off once they get you to sign up!I was charged (ended up paying) for 4 months more than I paid for the hole previous year.When the contract ended they switched me to floating rate without notifying because the rates where way higher than they’ve ever been.After such debates an long hours and days after days on the phone with costumer services, supervisor and managers they kept repeating the same thing and no options to help offered I lost my sanity and accepted my loss unless I exercised legal action against which might not have ended up in my favourHorrible experience

Avoid, I’m being billed by Direct Energy on a house I don't even own and the refuse to update the contact details after numerous request since April. They just keep billing me and I didn’t eventually set up or request the service. Avoid them

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. they just sent me an $850 for natural gas. I am one person in a house. They hide charges and then add it to the end of your contract.Contacted the BBB as well.

1 star - The phone system does not work and the call centre is awful. I have wasted to much time trying to update an address. I would think twice of using Direct Energy if you require any customer service. Update to 3 stars - After 3 hours of trying to update the account I was trying to pay, someone at a call centre located out of Canada was able to help me. Taking 3 hours to pay an invoice seems ridiculous and please fix your phone system. The buttons and voice recognition was not working.

Absolutely horrible! They seem great when you are brand new customer, and give you a good offer. But are Absolutely atrocious to work with as a continuing customer. Horribly high fixed rates. Will only offer 5 year contracts!? Absolutely terrible service. I had to make multiple phone calls to get my bill sent electronically, paper billing would often show up after the late penalty date. Which left me guessing, and is never good. The fees have skyrocketed. Do not use this company.

I'd cancel it... but I've been trying for 3 hours and keep getting hung up on.Don't let them tell you there's priority levels for getting your property energized. They'll charge you more and the distributor will still have it hooked up in 48 hours either way.Requests for supervisor call backs fall flat. Was hung up on 3 times waiting for a supervisor".Terrible company to deal with

Attended the Calgary home show and inquired about receiving information regarding services and rates with Direct Energy. I was reassured multiple times the information we were providing was only to unsure they could provide us with accurate information. We find out shortly after Direct had taken steps to cancel our Enmax account and sign us up with with Direct Energy.Thank you Enmax for righting this wrong. They said it happens oftenDirect energy is yet to help us correct what many would consider a shady way of getting new customers.
