Cape Breton Farmer's Market & General Store
Cute little market that is open on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. As we entered around 1:30 pm, we were greeted by someone at the door who explained where the goods (left side) vs food vendors (right side) were and let us know that it was closing soon. The market itself is not very big with about 3 rows of tables and by that time, a few of the vendors had already sold out of their goods and left. The food vendors were mostly closing up at that time too. Overall, it’s a fun little market to visit. There is also a shop just at the entrance that sells goods from the market and is open throughout the week.

It was ok, in comparison to other markets we had been to. It’s very small, and more arts and crafts based, but we still had a good time. Maybe it was just the time of day that we went, because we didn’t see too many farming vendors. We only went the one time, but it was still fun to check out!

It's a great market!! Every time I go to Cape Breton I always stop by! There's great food and a lot of different vendors. There is even a vendor that sharpens knives and sells rabbit pelts and meat!

On a practical side, there wasn't too much I was interested in. However, this is the #1 place for visitors to beautiful cape breton! Lots of awesome stuff like soap and keychains and cutting boards in terrific oceanic themes.

We had a great experience here seeing the crafts and local produce. Were had a tasty lunch of butter chicken and samosas in the food court. Yummy!

The vendors who attend and attend are nice enough but the market itself is mostly tacky crafts and very little in the way of food/produce/baked goods and those that are there are generally average at best. Having lived in areas with actual farmers' markets and extremely high quality vendors in large numbers the Cape Breton Farmer's Market is extremely lackluster by comparison. I would suggest visiting local shops and grocers instead of wasting time at the market.
