very disgusted with the customer service at this location.my well pump blew and we were without running water,was needing parts it was an hour before closing. NO ONE came to ask if we needed help finding anything, all the parts were placed in different compartments not their spots, went to lumber desk as there was 8 employees chit chatting and asked for help locating parts. once the employee reached the area slowly we were told plumbing leaves at 4pm... when asked for help finding sizes we were told I don't know plumbing I'm not a plumber cant help you... and then had to find an employee for tubing and was told what's there is there cant help you.we finally found everything we needed to fix the plumbing (took an hour) they started shutting lights off with customers still in the store... when at cash all I had was cash on me to pay for our items, the cashier asked can you not pay by card, I said nope i only have cash, he responded with great now I have to recount my till and was swearing under his breathe about it... seriously! you don't keep on trained department employees, your employees run and hide from customers and then get cussed out at the tills...DO BETTER Minden home hardware... My advice train your employees properly, teach them excellent customer service skills and train different departments for other departments so you ALWAYS have knowledgeable staff on hand!!!!!! The lazy ones fire and rehire proper staff! your only as successful as your weakest link!I used to work at a home hardware and we were trained to, as soon as you see a customer, you stop what your doing and greet them and ask if they need help looking for their items, I was trained in 3 DEPARTMENTS and if it was in a department I wasn't familiar with I brought the customer to THOSE TRAINED EMPLOYEES, to give the customers the best experience!!!!

They never have what you need and no orders in to get more. On line shows stock, but when you phone ,there is no stock. Having to go to timber mart in haliburton for what I need or orillia.

Give Sue a raise! Your team on the phone taking orders was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Not only did we set things up so that we easily understood each other, she offered some fantastic suggestions, answered all my questions, even asked a contractor who was in front of her for some help and we got a great suggestion from it. Can't wait to start my project. I felt very confident I had everything I needed after placing my order. And well priced too. Not too bad indeed. Will definitely be continuing to do business here.

People in this store are very helpful and you can always find someone! The best is they let you bring in your dog. Wonderful

We enjoyed the garden centre, lots to chose from. Plenty of parking and the staff are friendly. We loved the large front display of Yeti merchandise and purchased one that was on sale.

Nice large store. Good product variety. Pleasant staff. Dog-friendly. What else is there? ;-)

When it comes to customer service, there seem to be some obvious improvements over the last year. Saw Jenna in the garden centre who was very helpful, and knowledgeable in suggesting the right plants for my garden. Colin was very efficient on the computer in ordering me a garden cart, with a proffessional manner. The cart arrived the following week, which Sue offered to take to my car. Amazing!Got home, noticed cart was scratched. Spoke with Erin, who immediately offered to fix the problem and gave me a 25 dollar discount next time I came in. Hassle free! Erin was not there the following week when I went back to Homehardware. I ended up talking to another Sue, who took the the intiative to ask other managers if Erin had communicated the cart issue to them, which she had. Wow. Nikki looked after adjusting my bill, who is freindly, and always wishes a nice day. Also, Charlene in the paint dept, knows her paint, and has a nice way of talking to customers. So, the customer shopping experience at Homehardware in Minden in my opinion, on these occasions has been excellent.

I ordered a sale item online and it said Minden had 1 in stock. I received the order confirmation and it said it would be ready for pickup within 2-5 days. Day 3 (the day after the sale ended) I get an email saying order cancelled. I called the store the they said they couldn't find the item. It took 3 days to figure that out? If I had known I would have gone to another store to order. They wouldn't honor the sale price on the item when they get it back in stock. Won't be shopping at Home Hardware again. Plenty of other stores that appreciate my business.
