Consulate General of Spain
I have been coming to the Consulate General of Spain for over 4 decades. I agree with many comments that it is near impossible to make an appointment, but once you do the staff tries their best to complete your request and solve any problems you might have. Today, they spent a long time fixing solving a problem and I am so pleased with the service they provided. The website, set up and run by the Ministry in Spain, is and has always been obtuse and near impossible to navigate. It kicks you out when you follow the steps and each time you reenter to book an appointment it takes you through a different sequence. This is not the fault of the local Consul.

I am honestly so grateful to the Spanish consulate. Although it is difficult to get an appointment, the employees are extremely considerate and very helpful.I urgently needed a visa appointment and I visited the consulate. I explained my situation to the security personnel who has very kind and helped me get an appointment after discussing my case with the staff.Once I got the appointment, my visa officer was really helpful and thoroughly checked and assessed my documents, making sure I had all the necessary information.I wish the visa appointment procedure was easier however this is one of the best visa experiences I’ve had!

They do not respond phone call and emails ! But if you have an appointment, officer usually helpful. Try to book appointments around 2-6 am. Keep in mind that the appointments time open on business hours of Spain. Unfortunately the appointments are for the next month. If you need emergency appointments you can email them with the subject of EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT.

I sent my application to get registered as a Spanish Citizen living abroad and after months of no communication, and only after I inquired for progres, I received a short message saying that my application was not completed and that I had to start all over again and mail all the required information as per their web site. Not even a sorry or any details as to if anything was missed in my application, or the reasons behind them not “finalizing” their review.

Horrible experience. Can’t book an appointment and won’t answer calls or emails. Went there physically and got turned away because I didn’t have an appointment. When I told them there were no availabilities online (the website only lets you see a few days in advance), they said that I needed to wait. My partner and I wanted to visit his ill grandmother and now we cant.Idk where these positive comments come from since everyone I spoke to in line had nothing good to say either……it’s all bs.

I have dealt with the Consulate in Toronto for over 20 years and up until recently the service was always very efficient, friendly and attentive. My latest experiences beginning in 2023 have been nothing short of torturous due to the complete lack of communication. If you send in a formal request by regular mail or email there is no confirmation whatsoever that your request is being worked on or if it has even been received. Follow up emails and voicemails go completely ignored. If you go to the Consulate in person to inquire (because they ignore your emails and voicemails) you are stopped by a security guard who tells you to scan the QR code and go online between the hours of 12 AM and 6 AM to try and make an appointment. Unfortunately, if your particular process does not qualify for an in person appointment then you are out of luck and just need to wait at home in silence and hope that they are working on your request. In all likelihood your request may end up getting done in the end, but there seems to be a policy of NO COMMUNICATION or response to any doubts you may have. This is a terrible experience and the cause of much stress for people who need the consulate’s support in navigating these often complicated processes. Very disappointing especially compared to the way things used to be at the Consulate in Toronto.

Absolutely fantastic! I got my visa in 5 days. I am so grateful to entire team and specially my visa officer, they are so cooperative and the officer thoroughly checked my docs and made sure nothing was left unchecked. I am at the airport ready to enjoy my vacations in Spain all because of amazing Spain Embassy.

I sent them an email since I couldn't book an appointment online and they responded quickly with an appointment time that was perfect. When I went in they were very very kind and went out of their way to ensure that I applied for my NIE correctly. There was a gentleman who asked every possible question about the visa application process and the staff was more than happy to answer each question to the best of their abilities. They were patient, kind, and helpful. Thank you!The negative reviews stem from covid-related issues and do no reflect upon the staff or the establishment.

Over the years, I have encountered numerous consulates and embassies in my dealings. Among them, the Spanish Consulate in Toronto stands out as the most friendly and helpful group of individuals I have come across. When I needed an urgent appointment for a business trip, they promptly provided me with one and ensured that my visa was processed in a timely manner. I am truly grateful to the dedicated team at the Spanish Consulate in Toronto.
