Wow. This place was surprisingly good. Everything we got fried, tasted fresh and hot. Delicious crunch, exactly what we wanted. The bimbimpap was tasty and fresh.Creme Brule was on the neutral side, not as sweet as most. But freshly torched to order. Our servers were great, Kaylee was kind and upbeat, also there to answer questions in a friendly manner. We went around 9pm on a Friday and were seated right away. Our table next to the kitchen curtain was noisy with plate sounds out back but we didn't mind.Ordered: tako roll, mixed tempura veggies, crispy gyoza, bimbimbap and creme Brule.Thank you for the wonderful food and service!

To be honest the food quality is out of expectations. I believe this sushi restaurant been open for years. Their feature is use boat to carry different kind of sushi and rolls so you can grab yourself. You can also order from the menu for the hot food too. The ingredients they use is fresh you can feel it. They will have patio open soon this summer and really wish to go back and trying more items. Highly recommend the Don(rice bowl) and hand rolls so yummy.

Always a great time at sushi boat!I’ve been going here with my family for as long as I can remember, even traveling all the way over here when I used to live in the NE!The service is always wonderful and the food is as yummy as it’s always been. I think the green tea ice cream is by far the best here. The most rich green tea ice cream I’ve found in Calgary. The menu has grown quite a bit since the last time I’ve been. Super glad to see a local business grow :).I went on the patio opening day and we received free bubble tea in celebration of the new patio!Looking forward to trying out the new patio this season :)!

I went once before years ago and didn't remember the experience. We recently moved to the area and my daughter and I wanted to check it out. We love sushi so we need a good spot close by.. unfortunately, it was not a great experience. The boats were basically empty other than imported drinks, poki or other candy. We ordered a platter which came with the house special roll" we didn't ask what it was

There was not a great selection available on the boats but we ordered by menu and it was OK. Prices are on the higher end and sushi was meh. Rice was not fresh and was getting hard, portions were medium, quality was mid range. Overall you could definitely find higher quality and better taste for comparable prices.

2023-04-28Three of us ate dinner here after a 15 year absence. The food quality and service are just okay, I suspect management has changed. The pick-your-sushi from the circulating boats seems to be transitioning to a menu order format. Sushi selection from the boat is sparse, The boats mostly comprised snack bags and sodas. Our food quality was passable, some fish items were good: salmon, scallops. Other were a little off: albacore tuna, tuna (canned) salad and imitation crab roll. The tempura batter was thick and unappealing rather than light and crisp.Service was inconsistent. Our server provided a friendly, smiling greeting and was not seen until we finished paying the bill. Others filled in for her. There are several other sushi places in the area. I recommend going to those over coming here.

I haven’t dined here for 10+ years - last time things were going downhill and to be honest I was surprised they are still around. Anyway, learning that they’ve revamped their menu, I went tonight with a friend who also used to frequent a lot, but haven’t returned for years.I got there, asked the host how long is the wait for a table of two. She said not very long as tables were flipping fast. Our not very long wait ended up being 53 minutes. I don’t know what her idea or not very long was, but you know what, it was our choice to stay and wait so that’s on us. However, they are very slow at clearing tables, service, etc.Food. Wow where do I even begin. The sushi boats were still around, but exactly like 10+ years ago, it’s never filled with anything good. Always California rolls, dynamite rolls, some spicy salmon/tuna rolls which circled around many times during our stay. The infuriating thing was they’ve packed half of these boats with useless, overpriced snacks like pocky, seaweed, chocolate bars, ramune, hi-chew, even wasabi cans. Like what the f—- how about fill it with food instead? Those things are such a parent trap - I’d seriously scold my kid if they grabbed a $2.95 box of pocky. They also saran wrap such snacks onto their color coded plates… like… can you produce more waste or what?We ended up ordering off the menu and the food takes a while to get to you because they’re busy. I will say they did add a lot of new items to the menu including fancy rolls, sashimi plates etc. but they’re short staffed it seems or the kitchen needs more help. I don’t know if this explains why our not very long wait ended up being almost an hour. Taste wise, it’s nothing special. I can’t believe I fell into the hype and came back. I don’t think I’ve ever regretted a meal this much.

Had a wonderful experience with a large group of friends getting in on short notice for a Saturday night. They were able to accommodate us and the food way great. As one of my friends pointed out while we dined. Sushi Boat Slay’s.
