We contacted D.R. Howell Electric to get a whole home generator installed to manage through the increasing issues with power outages.Greg and Renee were fantastic and provided wonderful service and support. They were very patient with us and answered all of our questions and took care of the work with Hydro Ottawa and Enbridge. The installation team were very diligent and professional and brought portable generators to keep our fridge and freezers powered on during the installation process which was completed in one day (about 7 hours).I would highly recommend the company as we had an excellent experience pre and post-sales.

Generator running successfully for many years now. After hours service is excellent. Just now one of the guys talked me through a wiring mistake I made on a kitchen plug I was replacing that was causing a short, turning the generator on. Really excellent support, solved the problem quickly.

We recently had D.R. Howell install a Generac standby 14 kw generator at our home. They came highly recommended from several of our neighbours. They provided a detailed installation proposal with several options for us to consider and their pricing was very competitive vs. other suppliers. From the initial site visit through to the final installation every step was very completed in a professional manner by knowledgeable staff. We are extremely glad that we selected D.R. D.R. Howell installed our Generac home generator in Jan. 2022. It took me over a year to write a review but I had to do it. I got quotes from many companies but D.R. Howell was the only one with a fair quote and full knowledge of equipment. Not cheap, not expensive, fair! From initial contact to the installation, everyone at DR Howell exceeded my expectations with my purchase. I ordered the Generac 26kw generator in April with installation to be planned for the fall due to other construction I had taking place. Renee was always receptive to my emails & phone calls regarding the install being delayed due to delays in my construction. Installation day in November was extremely smooth and the techs took the time after the install to show me everything I needed to know regarding the unit. I waited to write this review until the power went out and that day came in December. The unit turned on in 10 seconds and feeding the house power in under 1 minute. Great work all around!

EXCELLENT Customer Service and Generac Unit. This company knows how to service the public starting with the your first point of contact: Renée. She is friendly, efficient, organized, and professional with excellent verbal and written communication skills. I hope the company realizes what an asset she is, as she is the FACE to Howell Electric for the consumer. The quotation process and installation went very smoothly and handled by professional, courteous staff. Very impressed with our installation team. We purchased an 18kW unit which is a large investment and had such a positive experience. Howell managed the logistics with Enbrige Gas to install a larger meter which we did not have to coordinate. It was ready well before the Generac arrived. The very well spoken young lad explained the hookup in the basement next to our electrical panel and the weekly 'run' of the Generac which he set according to our day/time of the week. Highly recommend this company.

D.R. Howell Electric installed our 18kW Standby Generator last November. It was already put to the test for three hours during the Christmas storm. We were so grateful to have such a seamless transition from power loss to backup power. DR Howell were recommended by a neighbor boy am I glad I had them install my 22kw generac, Greg and Renee who did the scheduling were fantastic. Shane the electrician was awesome he really knows his stuff. The whole process from the quote to scheduling to the installation was seamless. Being a former hydro lineman I truly believe no other electrician could have done as good and tidy of an installation. If anyone is looking for a generator install I would be calling DR Howell first
