W.F. Herman Academy - Secondary School

Attended and graduated high school here and it is wonderful. Offers a great french immersion program. The tech program has always been stellar. I fully endorse W. F Herman for its excellence as an institution.

It is great school with lots of people to become friends with. It is a great environment and has great education which includes the french program. The teachers are wonderful and i love the school. :) <333333

My wife and I went to herman and back years ago it was good. My son also went there and he got apprenticeship for tool and dye

First of all, I'd like to say I 'graduated' in 2013, having stayed an extra year due to mental health effecting my studies.It's taken me this long to make a review because, hey, I'm not a teen anymore, maybe someone will actually believe me (this school the authority figures (teachers, office staff, including principal and vice principals) believe their own, and refuse to listen to students.)Although there are many things I could point out against the school, there's one that will always stick in my head. And that would be my last year.As required, repeated students had to wait a week or more into the school year before going to classes because you had to speak with one of the vice principals, pretty much wasting our time that we could be in class.When I entered his office that day, you could practically feel the disgust coming off him.He immediately made it clear that I wasn't welcome, and that if he wanted to, he could care less to why I was repeating a year, and that I should be greatful he's letting me stay, because we could just remove you and no one will care

If no stars were an option, that would be my rating. The school is very inconsistent with the teaching (there are a couple great teachers, but the bad ones outweigh the good ones unfortunately by much more). The dress code is ridiculous so many of the girls are aloud to dress very provocative,while a select few aren't aloud to even wear tank tops in extreme heat. Many teachers are very lazy, looking for a paycheck alone. Some teachers don't give children deserving marks that they earn because of arrogance. Some teachers skip parts of curriculum, many go slow at the beginning and then race to cram too much in by the end. I could write a book on bad experiences. Also rather than the principal and teachers have the best interest of the children at heart, they side with one another no matter what the issue.

This was a great school, many generations have gone here. Awesome football team, great coaches.

Great school, great staff and great environment... The French Immersion program, really gets the kids started on the right foot and the kids get a great interaction with French Immersion students from the highschool side and they all work together and make a great community.
