Great snowshoe hike trail. Phenomenal for walking and cross country skiing as well. The cabins are absolutely AMAZING. The parking lot is huge and easy to access. Will definitely be back again.

#70 to Healy cabin from P15 with hiker friends, < 8 km roundtrip, ~100m elev gain. Lots of partygoers in there after 1st snowstorm... Had our xmax potluck, nice & toasty with the wood stove... festive atmosphere... highly recommend...

P15 in Gatineau Park is part of the Cross Loop Road hike. One of my favourite hikes in all of Gatineau Park. There is no P15 parking lot. When you arrive you'll find a gate do not Park in front of it. Parking is along the side of the Cross Loop Road. It can be fairly busy on nice weekends. Be courteous and leave room for cars parked to leave and don't block anyone in. You can drive down the road and through the Meech Creek Covered Bridge one of the 8 surviving Covered Bridges in Québec. The Meech Creek Valley is gorgeous offering beautiful vistas of farmland, river, mountains and historic ruins. Walk in either direction for a 15km Loop hike on trails 71 & 50. I recommend going counterclockwise starting with Trail 70 so that you are going downhill on Trail 50 at the end. You will passby 2 shelters worth a stop at both with wild raspberries growing along the trail in several locations. You will also pass by the gates of the Summer residence of Canada's Prime Minister. There are ruins of a settler farm and historic plaques along the way explaining the history of the area. There is also a small historic cemetery near the end of the hike at P15 worth the extra km or so detour. Highly recommended you won't be disappointed!
