St. Jacobs Outlets
One of the best country markets in Ontario.Incredible deals on sunglasses, jeans, clothing, bags and baskets. Your eyes will also delight at all the beautiful crafts and fine wood works, while the fresh produce and goods, and really good eats (hand cut fries, potato chips, dips and sauces, fresh rolls, fritters, meats and treats and lemonades and more) tempt your tastebuds and engage you with all the various aromas. There are picnic tables so you can try everything, atm machines so you can afford everything, multiple buildings to explore, wares to marvel at, interesting people, live musicians, an outlet mall over the road, tons of parking and even a bouncy castle, horse drawn wagon rides and train rides.Go early so you can get as much time here as you can. There is also a further agricultural element to the market. The 'stock' exchange takes place in a designated area of the market building. When the floor is open you can hear both cattle and bidders.Animal auctions are also held on outdoor grounds and crowds can swell to be quite large as interest turns to each lot trotted out for display to all. (we've only seen horses and cattle, but there are also probably other lots - not sure how often the auctions are).Last Saturday we also watched several children feed some penned ducks and look at and learn about sheep, a cow and a goat.Did I mention there are also horse drawn wagon rides?!Things are in full swing here, during the warm summer months on Saturdays - with some things going on all year.It is best to check the website for the dates and full hours as things shut down around 3:30pm.There truly is something here for every member of the family.

As the name suggests, there must have been an outlet mall in the past, but when we went there just last Saturday, the building was almost empty.Except two stores - one of footwear and the other of ladies clothing - all the other businesses deserted the mall. Also, there was no other customer in either of the stores, and unlike outlets, the prices were high- nowhere near those at outlets. In contrast to the abandoned outlet mall, the farmers' market across the street was swarmed with people. The immense area was bustling with hundreds of vendors selling a variety of items and lots of individuals. No, there is no outlet mall anymore, so if you are looking for one, in order to avoid disappointment, do not be misguided by the name.

Was there on a Saturday. The place was full of people. There's a huge space for parking but finding a spot is a bit tricky. Big market outdoors. Lots of vegetables and fruits. A fantastic experience for weekend trip in the summer.

St. Jacob's Outlet stores off Benjamin St.E. in Waterloo is where I spent a good 2 hours after going to the Market Saturday. It's just a short walk across the street. Who knew? Not me, I guess I never looked up and across the road to see the Outlets were right there.I spent the whole 2 hours at the Spanner outlet store, after receiving their email Thursday about a tier sale. The more you buy the better the discount. Sounded like a trip worth investigating after I perused the online store.I contacted Customer support and they found all the items I wanted to try on at this location. It's a good thing I didn't order from the Internet as all the sizes I thought I needed were wrong.Kathy, my sales associate and stylist at the store, was delightfully non aggressive yet extremely interested and genuinely helpful in getting me just the right fit. It's a good thing too because I had no idea what size fit me in their labels. I've been struggling to adjust to my new figure and can't get used to the size being smaller than I'm used to being. Someone objective that doesn't know me can look at me and say , this is not your size. I just let Kathy pull what she believed to be correct and she was 100% right!I had a marvelous time, made a new friend and trusted personal stylist in Kathy, and will definitely be going back to that location because of my great experience. Thanks for my wonderful first visit, Kathy*

We haven't been here in years because it's just too busy anymore. Finally went in the middle of the week and there are 6 stores!! The mall is closed for renovations. It doesn't say that on the website. This is not an outlet mall. Just a regular mall with normal prices

Not many stores left in this 'outlet' mall. The 'outlet' used to mean better prices but not so much anymore.Plenty of parking and close to the market - if you need cheap tube sox and crowds..

Went for the Lego Discovery Center but it wasn't there anymore - or was under construction maybe? The main large building was blocked off and surrounded by construction. Hopefully it returns! The Lego place was alot of fun.

This spot has lost all the glory and fame it once was and is no longer really an outlet. No more Lego store. No more second level. No more brand name spots like Corning Ware, Reebok, Levi's, Rockport, etc... The remaining stores are more the unfamiliar misc clothing shops (perhaps only 6 total shops left). Most people would come in here for the washroom - main highlight of the place it seems. Had great memories growing up and spending time here...those are long gone now. Covid time must have striked hard on this place, quite unfortunate. I'm hoping for good things for this spot in the future.

Warning! Do NOT go here. The whole building is undergoing a massive renovation and redesign right now and there are only five stores open for business including Tootsies, Trends for men, Cotton wave, Oxford Mills and Spanner. The entire upper floor and food court has been closed down. The vendors who are open are barely holding on by a thread and there were no deals to be had. Really sad and totally a waste of time. Do not believe the people who are giving this place a five star review. They are likely the sinking store owners or their staff and friends. So sad because they should have closed the mall and reopened when it’s functional again.
