Lac Seul's Scout Lake Resort

This is a great place. I had the privilege to stay here 4 times over the years and was great every time... It is under new owners but they are as great as the old ones.. 100% recommend this place

A very well run resort! The owners and staff are outstanding. The new cabins are excellent, and all older cabins are either renovated or scheduled for it as of August 2022. The walleye fishing was great! There was some uncooperative weather during our week but we always managed to catch some fish. In decent weather we caught many 21-26 walleye. Great numbers of big fish like I've never experienced before."

Nice cabins and easy access to a great part of the lake. Ice, gas, and electricity for boats available. Minnows are not the highest quality.

This occurred on July 29, 2022.Check your invoice for the fraudulent fuel charge if you rent their boats. When you receive the invoice for your stay look at the charge for the gallons of gas. We had two rented boats with 19 gallon built in tanks. You start your trip with full tanks. They top them off every day up to Thursday morning. When you bring the boats back to the docks on Friday by 5:00p.m., the invoice is already in your cabin. The first fuel charge is for the pre-filled 19 gallons for each boat followed by the combined daily top offs for all boats. Then they subtract the 10 gallons included per boat. We had two boats, start with 38 gallons, add 4 gallon top off, 5.5 gallon top off, 6.5 gallon top off, and a 3 gallon top off. They calculated 57 gallons minus 20 gallons included and charged us for 37 gallons. The fuel gauges indicated there were 26 gallons of fuel still in the tanks of their own boats. When I asked them to simply top off the tanks and charge us for only the fuel we used they refused and got extremely hostile. I've never had this experience with any other resort in the past. These are new owners in 2019 so the older reviews were when others owned the resort.When I stayed at this resort in 2013 the other owners were honest and fair dealing.The new owners charged us for 26 gallons of fuel they kept and will sell again to the next fisherman. Don't let them set the hook on you.The additional expense was 26 gallons at $10 US per gallon plus 13 percent tax. This is $293.80 US as theft by fraud from fishermen.As a recommendation if you want to fish Lac Seul Lake, book a trip just up the road. I stayed three times at another resort, Lac Seul Lodge, their package includes 30 gallons of gas and 15 dozen minnows per boat for the week. That is an additional $200 of gas and $60 of minnows using this resort's pricing.I only booked Lac Seul's Scout Lake Resort as a last resort" both times because Lac Seul Lodge was fully booked.Lac Suel Lodge is a much better place to stay and also has a lower initial cost without the experience of a fraudulent fuel charge on the back end.Be treated honestly and and fairly instead of the practice of Lac Suel's Scout Lake Resort.Sincerely

Top of line resort could not ask for a better experience, the fishing was extraordinary and the cabins were top notch.
