The Captain's Boil | Look forward to a steaming hot concoction of lobster, king crab legs, shrimp, clams, mussels, corn, and potatoes which get served in a plastic bag. Pick your level of spice and toss the seafood into our blend of secret, Asian inspired sauces: Cajun Cajun, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Sauce, or Captain's Boil (mix of all three). Don't forget about the fresh oysters, side dishes, and lunch specials.

Shrimps, captain boil sauce, medium spicy = the best you can get + fried shrimps basket. Back in the time they used to put a very generous amount of sauce for the shrimps, lately they put way less sauce, but it’s still delicious. Would recommend.

The Elgin location -Freezing cold in restaurant, 1 and only 1 very rude waitress refusing to serve liquor but ok with beer, food was under cooked, very small portions and no proper tools to eat tiny snow crab legs. Bathroom cold and backed up. All the stalls were full of toilette paper and unusable.Picture are from 1 person in our group.Left hungry and disappointed

I definitely won’t be going here again after the quality of food and service I just had. The servers were on there phone pretty much the whole time. My potato was raw, the rice was extremely dry, mussels were over cooked and when my food was brought out to me I had to wait 5 minutes to get a bucket and gloves and they didn’t bring it to me until I asked them and it still took them a couple of minutes to bring it over and it wasn’t busy. Extremely disappointed with the service.

“To wake or not to wake” that is the question. I came to the Elgin street Captains boil to have an amazing night with the girlies, and that is not what I got. Upon walking in, I was met with a sleeping hostess, whom didn’t realize we we were there until my friend woke him up. Once he was woken up, he was rude towards us, saying that the store did not open until 5 (we were there at 4:20). However, the website and the sign outside said that the store opened at at 12pm. From there he asked us to wait 10 minutes, and we said sure. Whilst we were sat, the host was rude to a woman ordering for pick-up. We ordered the food with no problems, but the food we got was warm at best, my egg still had the shell, and the potato was full with it not being fully cooked. The host/server (only one man working the floor) was hiding under the bar or was sitting on his phone at a booth. Not once did he come up to us asking how it was or if we needed anything, and when we did need something he would avoid us at all costs! The hunt club location is much better, and that is where I will be going from now on. It truly is unfortunate since Downtown Ottawa is supposed to be amazing with most food places. It’s understandable given covid and trying to recover from what that has done to restaurants and businesses, but the customer service really needs work.

I had a very disappointing experience at this location. Unfortunately, the shrimp, crawfish, and lobster were all overcooked, which resulted in an unappetizing texture that made it difficult to enjoy the dish. Additionally, the sausage was rock hard and tasted like it had been sitting for hours. The boiled egg came with its shell on! Overall, it was a very bad meal, and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for tasty and well-prepared seafood dishes. The place smells old! $175 gone to waste!

This place was absolutely disgusting. It gave us a very bad food poisoning. The service was ridiculous, couldn’t get any waiters attention because they were always on the phone. Ordered the muscles and they came back completely hard and overcooked. The rice had no flavour at all. We spent approximately 200$ there and couldn’t eat the food because it was so poorly done. Definitely will never be going back there again. I don’t recommend you do either…

Abit pricey but reasonable. Still a great place tbh. They need to have A.C cause it's hot and you get hot when eating as well. Overall great place

This was a special experience we've never had before. A literal bag of shrimp (or any seafood you order) was served to us to be eaten directly on the table with gloves and a bucket for the shells to complete that eat-like-a-sailor feel (or cooler yet... A pirate). Accompanied with some excellent garlic bread and sides of rice and potatoes we didn't regret this spontaneous dining experience

Love this place! Just for the experience alone it’s a must visit. Would be a great dinner night out with a group. The captain’s boil sauce is a top recommendation, the shrimps and mussels are nice and big and the seafood rice is also really good. Caution with choosing your sides, this time we got corn and potatoes and it literally came with one tiny cob cut in half and one piece of potato (see photo). Would definitely choose different sides next time.
