Smithville United Church

Visited the other day. Lovely church! People were friendly! There's an elevator in the back entrance for people with disabilities. There was a man there helping to use the elevator too!

A very relaxed atmosphere. Everyone was enjoying themselves. Recommend Highly!

I was raised in this church, married here, and am now bringing my little girl to our services. She loves the singing and the smiling faces. We're a friendly bunch and try our very best to make everyone feel welcome. We're LGBTQ+ friendly and have worked really hard to make the building and our services (now live-streaming on YouTube!) as accessible as possible.

I attend this church and am proud to say that it has been very proactive in building in accessibility to a very beautiful historical church. There is an elevator (side door with a pullup for drop out and pickup) that brings you to all levels including the sanctuary, a hearing loop system, sections where pews have been removed to allow wheel chairs and always a lift operator and greeter to provide assistance. Our minister is compassionate with a goal of vitality and spiritual health; bringing a toolkit of wellness experience and a passion for us to learn and know God's love and be closer to him. The services are live-streamed and recorded (many use the convenience of attending online). We are blessed with a beautiful sanctuary, ordamented in stain glassed windows, donated from members over the years, a historical pipe organ, grand piano, and a very musically talented congregation Music is a big part of our church, choir, bell, and our band! Food and fellowship are also a big component with many coffee hours and outreach events. We are also very active in mission and social outreach, supporting community care, foodgrains, gleaners, Wesley programs, Cave Springs, and numerous others both local and abroad! We are building new children and youth programs. We welcome anyone who is looking for a place of worship invite you to come join us or if you are passing through to visit!

I have found home again after a very long time of not attended a church where I did not feel welcome . I love that they are all so inclusive with everyone . The music, the Minister are not just speaking at you they are all speaking from their heart ,I attend the grief group and mindfulness group that is offered on other evenings and morning .

Service seems a lot more secular than many other churches. Attendance was relatively low which was mentioned during service, too. I've been here for a couple funerals, and while they were solemn affairs, service was always tactful and with respect despite being more secular.

Like several others in the congregation, I started coming after being raised in the Catholic church. The services in comparison are much more down to earth and less formal. Great music, preaching and community. The congregation sees the church as a community resource to be shared (guides, AA, community groups, etc) so it is a bit of a community hub as well as a church, especially now that the parking lot is shared with the township for weekday downtown parking, and the possibility of a daycare using the building in the future on weekdays.

Nice inside. You do have to climb the stairs to be in the actual church. Difficult if u have mobility issues.

This is a vibrant and fun church, innovative in the way a service is presented with contemporary services on the last Sunday of each month. Regular services are creative with a wonderful message each and every week!
