Guitar With Jamie

I’ve been playing guitar for just under a year and a half now. At the beginning of this year, I decided I needed solid guidance from a teacher so that I could improve faster and start to learn theory. After my first couple of lessons with Jamie, I knew I had made the right choice.He has a very flexible way of conducting the lesson that I really like, and he draws colour-coded pictures to make learning and remembering the material easier. He also caters to my specific requests, and never pressures me to take another lesson unless I feel I’ve mastered what was covered in the last. He is very patient and encouraging, and never makes you feel inadequate when you don’t understand something. I also enjoy our little jam sessions at the beginning of each lesson where we apply what was covered last time.With his guidance, I’ve grown enormously in the past half a year in both my technique and my understanding of scales, as well as how chords and chord progressions are built, and how the fret board is organized. I would recommend him as a guitar teacher to anyone, whatever their musical goals are.

I've always wanted to take guitar lessons my whole life but never really got around to it. I finally decided it was time to take lessons. Upon doing some google research, being in Vancouver, there were many options. Jamie looked like a fitting teacher due to his good reviews, flexibility and pricing. Right off the bat Jamie completely worked his schedule around mine. I think he's a great guitar teacher. He taught me whichever song I wanted to learn, even if he hadn't heard it before. He was never judgemental and was always encouraging and patient. It's really fun and motivating to learn guitar when you love the song you're playing. Jamie really knows what's up. I'd recommend him to my friends.

I decided that I was going to the learn to play the guitar as a new past time. Being a complete beginner I was worried about finding the perfect teacher. Someone that would be able to make the lessons simple enough not to be intimidating but still fun and not boring.Jamie did just that! He was happy to do at home lessons for no extra charge. He had great song recommendations and would always write out what we were learning in clear steps (with great colourful pens!) this made it super easy for me to master at home. He was happy to take on any song I suggested and could teach it to me instantly by just listening to it. One day I hope to be able to do that too. He has given me a great base and confidence to continue on learning! I want to thank him for making Sunday a fun-day! I would strongly recommend Jamie as your teacher! Go for it!

Jamie is an excellent instructor. He is patient, calm and easy to contact. His lessons are perfect for beginners. His schedule is flexible so it is easy to fit in a lesson without committing to a specific day and time each week. Jamie gives simple and clear instruction and can divide songs up into small parts making them easier to learn. He is eager to answer questions and give advice not only during your lesson but also via email when you are practicing at home. I would strongly recommend Jamie to others. Jamie gives excellent instruction and encouragement. He never makes you feel stupid for not knowing something. He is enthusiastic and knowledgeable and can learn your favorite songs in minutes and teach them to you on the spot!

For me, to be honest, Jamie has a good talent for teaching Guitar. Because he is a patient and considerate teacher, he helps me to learning the guitar step by step. Let me learn from the basic lesson and teach me not only the guitar, but also the the tones and some easy theories with guitar. It makes me know more not just guitar. He also used his handout to give me practicing at home, and concern about your practicing. He is a respectful teacher who is always let us choose the time to learn the guitar. He is also a professional teacher who plays guitar very well. I am really happy to work with him for learning guitar, it helps me a lot!!!!!
