My mom and I got SCREAMED AT by a female employee who was watching the store. NEVER coming back here again, which is a shame because I was ready to buy glasses at Ola Optical.I was emailing Patrick (one of the employees here) before attending this store, with a recent eye exam prescription. I heard good things about Patrick and this store, so I am sad this happened.At the store, the female employee was screaming at my mom when we asked how many people were allowed in the store and asking about the glasses. THEN, she ACCUSED me of not having an eye prescription, when we tried to calmly explain we had one, and when she finally understood, she started having hearing issues and screaming at my mom to talk louder.At this point, we wanted to avoid a confrontation, especially during COVID-19, so we left the store.Very surreal retail experience.

My family and I have been getting glasses from Ola for many, many years. Patrick is very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The fact that this shop has been around for so many years indicate how good this business is. We will continue to go back to get glasses from Patrick.

Excellent service and price. I found this place by accident after spending weeks looking for a new pair of glasses. Prescription glasses are typically expensive and I decided to invest more time finding the right pair at a fair price.After surveying a lot of stores across the GTA (downtown being incredibly expensive! don't go there) I discovered this store. Though small, they had a good selection of frames. I had narrowed down my frame to a couple of styles (the majority of frames, probably 98%, are made by Luxottica regardless of designer). The designers pay to put their name on the style of glasses. Anyhow, as you can imagine selection varies by store and so does pricing (huge spectrum). I needed to baseline.Ola was great. I was able to negotiate a great deal for Prodesign glasses, Essilor lens, thinnest lens possible, with blue light coating (which I think makes a huge difference staring at monitors - less tiring). Too many of the other optical places, though majority were very nice, offered their house Canadian brand lens (whoever that might be) or lens from China. When you inquired about blue light coating, the price skyrocketed. Nikon and Zeiss lens could also be very expensive! I settled for middle of the road, if you can even say that?From what I read, there is a huge markup on blue coated lens (it cost a few cents to put on by the manufacturer - which guess who owns Essilor.. Luxottica!). Anyhow, as frames are pretty much a monopoly, the prices don't vary as much as you think it would...All in all, the services was fast and friendly.. the first question out of their mouth wasn't how much benefits do you have to spend - which I find always rude. It's about finding the perfect glasses (or close enough) at a reasonable price and for me Ola was it. I negotiated a fair price, having gone to at least a dozen places, many with 4.5 - 5 star ratings. The glasses look great as expected.

Patrick was polite. He took time to listen to my concerns. When he disagreed with me, he expressed his position respectfully. I could feel his respect for my opinion and preference. Most importantly, he truly looked out for my interest. He never tried to sell things that I did not need. He went out of his to serve my interest, though I did not even ask for them. I will certainly go back to Ola Optical.
