The customer service asking the passport, sin numbet, driver's license, birthday, all of these information are confidential and i am only asking why they have to put me in collections agent if my owing ballance is $204? And yet it auto deduct my account to pay them? I wish there is an action from the government to control these company to take action

I would like to understand how my bill is 100$ a month when nothing is on??! I work 8 hours a day and when I am home it’s off peak yet these rates are not even logical. Noting that I literally have everything in my home unplugged. Never had a hydro bills so high in my life since moving to Guelph. This doesn’t even make sense in regards to consumption as everything is turned off? I don’t even leave my outside light on , this is ridiculous!! Will be looking into reporting to BBB

Brutal customer service nearly impossible to get a hold of, website that you can't get into, doesn't email you your bill.Instead of emailing you your bill, they tell you to go to the website, when you can't get into that, you have to call the customer service you can't get a hold of.It seems like the higher ups in the company don't care

This company has the worst service of any I have dealt with. They should be ashamed. Their inability to maintain consistent accurate records of service, communication with Guelph water and prompt financial reconciliation with Guelph services is appalling.

As many people who are long time residents of Guelph will agree since Alectra Utilities merged with Guelph Hydro every aspect of the service has gone downhill. First off, payment options are a nightmare. I try to pay online and their website rarely works on mobile devices. When you pay with a credit card through the phone they charge you a convenience fee" through a third party.When I first moved to Guelph I went to their head office to get some clarification on payment options with hopes that a staff member could guide me. I was trying to pay them. Their response was to shoo me away and inform me they no longer have an in person customer service department. On top of that it's nearly impossible to speak to a real human being through their phone lines.On top of all of that I had a terrible experience with Alectra Utilities tree trimming crews. I understand that trees have to be cut back from power lines but they gave no notice that they would be cutting branches in front of my place (above my car). When they arrived there they asked my partner if the vehicle could be moved

I have paid bills well before their due date, and have proof of those transactions going through. However, every month they try to claim that I didn’t pay the amount and add it on to the current month’s bill. I’ve tried to work it out with representatives but it’s no use.

Closed account on sale of home, missed the final bill notice. That's on me. People make mistakes. I rarely miss a payment on anything, but I am still human, and that is what reminders are for. 22 days past due the company sends me an email to pay the balance or be submitted for collections, no prior notices. 7 years I paid my bill on time. They subsequently advised notices of late payment were sent, but I don't have any such notices, and if I had, I would have paid the remainder of the tiny remaining balance immediately. No company has ever threatened me with collections in less than one billing cycle, let alone ever being threatened with collections in the first place. 7 years I had an account in good standing... Can't believe it. I have an excellent credit rating. Beware. A simple mistake could damage your credit with this company.

I called and asked the amount on the last bill to pay because I didn't receive the bill this month. The lady name Janessa said I am not authorized even I only need the amount to pay, I don't need any detailed information and I gave her exactly the information on my last bill as my husband's name, my account number,.... My husband works morning shift so he couldn't call and if we pay late, they will charge interest. They make difficult to customers! Bad service!

It is unreal how suspiciously expensive the bills are for Guelph. Neighboring cities have bills that are less than my delivery charge and nothing is done from city or provincial level about what is likely fraudulent billing. Also convenient when you dispute your bill or ask for your metre to be inspected, they tell you it's not their problem. They tell you to reduce usage.So you make some changes, unplug everything, stop using your home, essentially and notice zero reduction on your bill. You call up, they tell you to turn off appliances, you tell them the breakers are off on most of your home so somethings wrong and they tell you to get your own electrician to look at THEIR meter.It's honestly a joke how they get away with charging these rates and they can just tell you how much you used and there's nothing you can do about it.Can't wait foe the day to come when they're investigated for fraudulent billing activity and overcharging for services NOT rendered.
