I was looking for a shop that knew how to sharpen figure skates and hockey skates. I was not disappointed in the service I received here. Although I brought in very poorly kept skates (mine were very rusted), the staff here took care of my blades. I would definitely come back here for future sharpenings!

I've been taking my skates and my kids skates to the Markham Sk8 shop for over 5 years. They are professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Now that my kids are older and picky about their skate sharpening, MarkhamSk8Shop's consistency helps make sure the only thing they think about is their game. I recommend them to anyone that wants quality service at an excellent value.

Joe and his team are the best. I went in with a cracked skate blade. Joe put me in a new blade quickly and profiled my skates. Now I have better glide and control over my edges. Coming back here again.

I’d like to give this place *six* stars, ha-ha! I’ve been going to this shop on Yorktech for a few years now. And every time I go, I’m so impressed with the job that he does on my skates. He’s an “artist”! And when I play on these freshly sharpened skates I feel so confident. If you’re in the Markham area (or if you’re even within a 30 minute drive) you really should check this place out.

Great job and fantastic friendly service! Convenient location close to hotel for our group that was in the city for a tournament. Girls went to shootouts in the finals! Thanks for keeping their speed up with sharp blades!!!

Joe and Rick are co-owners of the shop. They are the only ones who sharpen our skates. They are knowledgable and definitely know what they are doing. They take pride of what they do. There are other skate sharpening shops in Markham and the nearby cities/towns, but I only go to them because I know that my blades will be sharpened well and there won’t be any issues when I step back on the ice. I highly recommend that you try them out. Not only you won’t be disappointed but you will love how your skates feel

This is now my go to place for skate sharpening! Other shops I've gone to would result in inconsistent skate sharpenings.I skate on a 3/4 hollow and a lot of times when I sharpen at other places I wouldn't get what I asked for. It would feel like a 1/2" or one foot would feel like the proper hollow while the other was too shallow or too deep.My friend recommended that I see Joe at MarkhamSk8shop and originally I declined but I'm so glad that I changed my mind because Joe is really good at what he does. I was fortunate that there wasn't a wait to do my skates. The sharpening process was around 5-10 mins which was great since I'm usually waiting for 30+ mins at other places.While I was there I noticed that this shop does more than just skate sharpening. This is the place where the pros get their ice sports equipment tuned up & professionally sharpened. They also offer knife sharpening. Highly recommend.

Joe and Rick are so knowledgeable, professional AND passionate about their craft. Went to many skate sharpening shops before coming to Joe about my edge issues. He had a look and immediately knew what to do. I added profiling after Joe explained the benefits, and he still was not pushy about getting an extra service (he will try to save you money if he can) but he was spot on with my profile and hollow, skates never felt better! Now I will not take my family’s skates anywhere else! Truly a gem of shop in Markham.
