H&R Block

This is my 2nd year with H&R Block on Orleans Blvd. I’ve been impressed with the quality and professionalism of the staff both times. I am always late filing my taxes, but they have accommodated me both times. Will definitely use them going on.

I was railroaded into using HR Block, due to Money Mart not doing taxes anymore as of this year. Normally for years, I paid around $80-100 to have Money Mart do taxes for me. They were always perfect, and I never had a problem. After spending a substantial amount of time organizing all my paperwork and adding things up, the amount of time the agent at HR Block put into my taxes doesn't justify the cost of $250.00. They also made sure to point out that I got a discount of $131.00 because of my self employment. So, with taxes in that means it had the potential of being over $400.00 to do them! Total ripoff, never again! My wife had them done here before, and they botched hers badly a few years back.

Went to see Lubab for the 7th year in a row. Everything was explained to me as we went along. You have the option of getting a cheque or visa card for your tax refund. Highly recommended. Thanks again Lubab

My first problem was that I'm scent sensitive and my agent had a wall plug-in that actually made all of my tax papers reek even a day later, even though it was unplugged on request. I got a headache and itchy eyes. The chair was uncomfortable and I had to stick around.The tax service was alright, but cost more than I remembered. I had to pay $110+$20 (even after a government worker discount) if I also wanted them to handle audits, but they sent a lot of the paperwork home with me, so I would have to bring it all back anyways. I really don't know what I was paying for. I had hoped that I could bring in my gluten-free food receipts and not have to do that part myself, but apparently I'm expected to itemize the gluten-free items and the price difference and bring in that list, which is 80% of what I wanted to pay them for.The service was also less than professional because I got the unimpressed eyebrows" at least once and there are ways to professionally disagree with a client and recommend a different course of action. Good location, with easy access and ample parking. My wife and I had our tax returns filed at this location for the last two years. Very satisfied with service provided by Angela. We left the office with a good understanding of our tax returns and confident that all possible deductions were claimed.

I've been seeing Yvonne Stout for my taxes for about 15 years. I initially wrote a glowing 5-star review about her, but I’m now changing it to 1 (I wish 0 was an option). This year while I was in her office to get my return done, without my knowledge and without asking me, she mistakenly changed my marital status. That was 2.5 months ago, and despite multiple emails and phone calls, and despite several promises that she would correct her mistake, she’s done nothing and hasn’t contacted me with any updates. I understand that people can make clerical errors, but refusing to fix them when it affects your client who trusts you, and being completely unresponsive, is unforgivable. I’m frustrated, angry, and disappointed in her lack of action and professionalism on this issue and it has marred any goodwill I’ve had towards her. If she cares so little about her customers maybe it’s time to quit. Needless to say, Yvonne has lost my business.

They did my taxes last year. The woman I worked with clearly didn't care about anything and just wanted to get me out of her office. Recently I had an issue and I called to ask if they would help me. I was told yes and made an appointment after driving across town to return to the same location I was told to just call CARS personally and that they wouldn't help.

Do not recommend. First and last time getting a professional" to do my taxes. I was looking for additional advice and did not get that service. They took forever to do my taxes. I was in there for 1.5 hours. Took 15 minutes of me sitting and waiting when I had an appointment booked. It cost me 200$ for something I could've done myself."

I would give zero stars if I could. Met with a “master tax specialist” on April 12th, I emailed her one last piece of information a week later, since then (now May 6th) I’ve left 4 messages and emailed again - she said she wasn’t good at checking her email, so call to remind her, but she’s also not good at returning calls.Monday, May 2nd - tax deadline, she returns my 4th call at 9pm at night telling me she will call on the Wednesday- haven’t heard from her.I have never, in any service, encountered such unprofessional service. So now, I’m in a bind, can’t get a hold of this woman and my taxes remain in limbo. I don’t care how busy you are - if you are at capacity, you simply say - I cannot take on another client! They just book and book and book.Angry doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel. Get your cousin to file for you - I’m sure they will do a better job.
