Restaurant Chez Lien
The worst pho ever, literally only has ONE option for pho as a Vietnamese restaurant. The soup is quite thin and tasteless, meat is not fresh, and 30% more expensive than other pho restaurants.

I used to go and enjoyed the food but then it was not the same so I stopped going. We went last night after many years to try again. It was overlooked and very dry. The beef was like shoe leather and the chicken thighs were overdone. Very disappointing hoping it had returned to when it was excellent.

Surprised at these reviews. Been here countless times, it was a go-to spot for some family get togethers for a time. It's a small cozy family run restaurant that's not terribly overpriced and is a bring-your-own-wine with the SAQ next door, what could be better?I always go for the soup to start, then have noodles with chicken and veg enjoying it with some red wine and usually finish off the meal with coffee or tea. Of all the times we've been, I can't recall any of us ever being dissatisfied. The family has always been super nice to us, always provided excellent service. Never any issues with the food, taste, quality, presentation or portion wise. Scratching my head here over the bad reviews.I say go for it. Don't whinge about it not being authentic"."

Good service, good food and bring your own wine keeps the price in check. Closes at 8pm so not a late dinner place.

Was my first time here and I ordered the complete meal menu F which came with a soup, imperial roll, grilled beef, grilled chicken and a shrimp skewer. The soup that came with the meal was very good however the main meal was plain. Service was not present. I had to keep waiting for the server to look at me or get her attention as she was on her phone while she had two tables... I was ready to order but she didn't know that until I got her attention. At the end of my meal, I thanked her and she just ignored me...

I've probably driven past Chez Lien a thousand times and never gave it a second thought but being the type of guy who wants to try out everything Laval has to offer, I came here with a co-worker to enjoy a hopefully better than average Vietnamese meal.Upon coming in, I was quite impressed by how pretty everything was. Snazzy looking purple and rose chairs, beautiful mural and very noticeable effort to make the establishment look nice.I opted for the grilled chicken with steamed veggies in a bed of crispy noodles. The chicken was fresh and well prepared and I enjoyed them a lot! The steam veggies and noddles were marinated in a ragu-like sauce that enhanced the flavor however despite enjoying my plate, I didn't expect it to be so wet and eventually the sauce overwhelming my taste palette (couldn't taste anything else). I'd definitely would like to try out another option on my next visit though. My only complaint is that I'd much prefer to be given a tea option rather than a glass of water. It makes me feel like the resto is more authentic.Service was friendly and about average when it comes to speed. For a lunch option, it's a little tight on the 1 hour time constraint.Price-tag was about average and overall, I left with a positive experience. Very pretty, enjoyable food and service was decent.3.5 stars rounded down to 3.I'll see if I can bump this up to 4 on my next visit!

We went a few times with our children, the service was always excellent. Food was served really fast, it is the fastest service I’ve ever seen besides fast food restaurants. The food we ordered was very tasty (home soup and Tom yum soup were both legendary, and their grilled chicken with special salad and rice combo is light and always delicious) with generous servings. We went again recently and the restaurant seemed closed for renovations, which could be a good thing, as a window seemed broken and the walls needed a fresh coat of paint. I really hope they reopen soon, we miss Chez Lien (it is our daughter’s favourite restaurant, and we’ve been to a few!).
