I went toBow valley collage , and it was the worst experience ever . Spent so much money on upgrading and I did my best education. I withdraw a class and they wanted money and I gave them proof I pay and they still not given my trans scripts And they couldn’t help me walked around the collage and no one knows what they doing.they are money grabbers. I don’t recommend going to this collage. The Best universities to go to is Mount Royal University and University of Calgary , sait university

Before arriving in Canada, I chose bow valley because I believed that it was a serious institution that respected its students by giving them some help if necessary in the academic journey, I never believed that I would be humiliated as I am being, I was expelled from college without being able to access my emails, notes, personal information. Now all the time that I ask for help, I got emails back saying, you have to read this, you have to read that, is like nobody is really paying attention what is happening in my life now, how drastic this action is in the international student life.I am really disappointed because now I don’t have an answer, I don’t know who is the program chair to help me, and I only receive general answers, nothing specific to my case.

As someone who has experienced Bow Valley College's academic upgrading placement and English program, I would not recommend this institution, especially for immigrants and newcomers. One major issue I encountered is that they don't have the right placement tests to place you in your qualified position of education status or English proficency. This led to me being placed in a lower level class than what I should have been in, and it wasted a significant amount of my time and money. Moreover, it seems like Bow Valley College tries to make you stay longer by getting you to take lower classes, presumably to get more money out of you. This is extremely frustrating, as it feels like they prioritize profits over their students' education and progress. To make matters worse, the classes are just repetition of the same teaching strategy, which gets very monotonous and boring. There is no effort made to introduce new teaching methods or materials to keep the classes engaging and effective. All in all, I would strongly advise against attending Bow Valley College's academic upgrading and English program. Their inadequate placement tests, money-driven motives, and lack of innovative teaching strategies make for a disappointing and frustrating educational experience

Got my Unit Clerk certificate, they did not offer a practicum for me at the time not living in Calgary. Can’t get hired in my field with no experience, certificate isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. Now I have student debt and absolutely nothing to show for it.

When I decided to apply to this college for the business major, the status of the major was open and I even contacted them on the phone, but after a month they put me on the waitlist and they said that the status of the major was closed at the time of my application. The fee for this college is higher than all the colleges I know and they lied to me! I do not know what to do.

Avoid taking the Digital Design course. Instructors are entitled, rude and basically useless. If you don’t know or remember something, they’ll tell you to google it (right, Philip Flegel?), whilst you’re paying almost CAD $50,000 in tuition fees as an international student just to be told to look it up online or watch YouTube tutorials by an extremely entitled instructor. The same person who does not provide any useful feedback, it’s always something general like “great, good, i like that, i dont like that, etc”, which makes it impossible to learn from it. Most instructors have also been using the same material for at least the past 5 years, which is crazy to me… paying that amount of money to get recycled classes and materials.Would NOT recommend the College and any courses from the School of Technology, specially Design.

My experience as a student in the Office Administration program was quite good. Most of the teachers were quite good, except for one:Lynn Gerle. I have a learning disability and I don’t think she was that understanding or patient. One time I asked how much extra time I could get for exams, and she rolled her eyes at me. She’s very rude and unfriendly. I’m happy she’s gone from this place now. As for the Students Association, Business department, and the office for registration, I feel like the staff could be better. I did my practicum at the Students Association and some of the staff there: Al Dickinson, Rylan Slipchuk, and Ben Shim, were not that nice. Huong Doan was amazing.I hope those people, except for Huong, don’t work there anymore. I also did my practicum at the Shipping and Receiving department there, and most of the staff there, were nice. Jack was a nice guy.

Yet another diploma mill. Sadly I wasn't among the so called 80% graduates that got a job. I needed woeful amounts of training. However BVC does have a good reputation for many human service agencies...

The school needs to select their students more wisely otherwise they will become one of the worst schools in Calgary.1. Nearly half of the students didn't come to school because they are basically working full-time. No attendance will be checked and they can somehow pass the the exam because the program design is to let them pass so bring more their kind of people to the school so school can make more money from them.2. And the school forced other good students to work with them in the group assignment by randomly assigned groupmates. Every group assignment was a pain for me, I never had so much trouble in the university before.3. People cheated a lot from small exams to final exams, don't even mention about assignments. I saw so much time some students talked and discussed in the exam, but the instructor didn't care, because some instructors just want to have more people pass their courses and they know without cheating those students won't pass.Good students don't get any appeciation here, I had a GPA over 3.79, worked hard and treated seriously in every assignment and attended to every class, but I applied scholoarship twice, all got rejected without any reasons, the most recent one I applied, didn't even get any response. They said they care about the student, but even the Dean never responsed your email. The reputation is ruined, I feel sorry for the good instructors, some are really good in teaching and responsible. They deserve better somewhere else.
