Theatre of the Mind Books

Old movie theatre converted to a bookstore. No organization to collection; novels, cookbooks, magazines all together on same shelf. No catalog, worker there didn't know what books were available and wasn't interested in looking.

Went there today on a Saturday afternoon and they were Open. A sign on the door has a phone number for the Mission City Pawn Shop next door and to call them if someone wants to browse the books. They are a very large location, ie the size of a theater. A lot of times they have multiples of each title so maybe an overstock buyer.

Would love this place a whole lot more if the owners didn't treat it as a burden to run. Showed up about 3pm on a Saturday afternoon and a sign on door says go next door to the pawn shop if you want to go in. So ok, next door at pawn shop ask them if they will let us in and there is this big production for them to do that, including making us wait about 10-15 minutes before they do. Once inside though, wow the place is HUGE. But so poorly organized and cared for. Literal cobwebs on the stacks of books which are in no sensible order. Then at 3:40 guy says he's gotta close up and we gotta go. Barely there for 20 minutes. Too bad cause I could have easily found dozens of books. Has so much potential but it's like they don't want to do any business. Weird place.

I'm convinced this store doesn't want to sell any of their books. Prices are astronomical. It's a shame because selection is quite nice.
