Win-mar has excessive staff turnover and are poorly equipped to deal with large losses. They are there to work for the insurance company and to save them money by cheating on the repair to your property by being paid for the work but NEVER completing it and leaving you with all the problems associated with a property that didn’t receive proper water and fire mitigation. Constant and continual fight to get work completed on time and property. Hire independent contractors you trust, NOT resto companies!

Excellent communication and much much better than some restoration companies in Winnipeg. They have the best set of sub-contractors to do the work on time and at the customers convenience. Thanks to Tom and Anna for making sure we get the best services.

We have a beautiful new kitchen and living room area, thanks to WINMAR and the project manager, Ashley. We were so impressed with the quality of work and the professionalism. The crew is hard-working and we really enjoyed having Elmer, Gilbert and Peter (plus many more) working in our home. It was a big project and they made the experience seamless. Our friends have asked who did the work and we highly recommend this company. The top reason is because of the communication. Ashley always returned our phone calls and emails within a day. The prices were fair and communicated ahead of time. Multiple quotes got us the best prices. Easy to work with and I'd have them work on my house again.

John was exceptional to deal with from start to finish. Incredibly knowledgeable, and his crew was able to complete our entire basement (removing asbestos floor tiling) in under a day. He was always available to answer questions, and on the day, the crew showed up exactly when they said they would and got right to work.They wrapped our washer and dryer, as well as our electrical panel and some exposed insulation. My insurance company choose this business as their contractors and estimators.We had an estimator come to our property to look at gutter damage do to the heavy snow fall.Without a ladder and missing hein my opinion missed most of the damage, he concluded damages thousands of dollars under the next two independent estimators.In addition they informed our adjuster they were in contact with us.They misled our adjuster or our adjuster misled us in informing us that they were in contact with myself after the estimate was conducted.I had to call myself. In order to clarify the progression.Still waiting for the assessment from the insurance company in order to do a comparison with the other estimates.The unprofessional behaviour of this company , my personal dealings with them leads me to the conclusion that they would never be allowed to do any repairs or estimates on our property.Judging by other comments, I’m not alone.

This company is not to be trusted.My insurance company sent Winmar to assess the damage.Based on Wnimar's assessment my claim was denied.Winmar however, had given a solution to insurance company with a price to repair. I accepted the solution and the quote, asking Winmar to do the repair on my cost. The project manger said he will do as soon as his crew is free.I called , emailed several times the so called project manger. He, times and agin promised he would call me the same day or tomorrow letting me know when he will start the repair. He failed to do so.This story went for almost two months, and work was not done by Winmar.No work ethics, no reliability and no trust in this company.

My overall experience with this company was sadly not at all what I had expected. They were far from professional, not very forthcoming with any information and don't care to resolve construction concerns and/or provide follow up information in a timely fashion.

Our Insurance company recommended this company for renovation of our condo unit because our unit was flooded. At first their representative name Derrik we thought that he was a nice person to talk with, inspected the unit and he told us that our unit will be renovated and finished two to three months. When he inspected sometimes in March 2021, he mentioned that the floorings, dishwashers and the cabinets will be replaced. And since they are going to replace the cabinet (hoping), we requested that when they put it back if possible set the upper cabinet near to the ceiling as possible so that we can added a microwave with range hood and he said yes but with extra cost and we agreed. So we are very happy that time and very thankful with him. He said give him two weeks for the estimate to be submitted to the insurance. To make it short our insurance approved the estimate.Then when the renovation started they pulled-out everything the floorings plus base boards, cabinets, dishwashers which was affected by the flood and even all the contents of the unit. Also we decided to move-out temporarily and pay rental at our own expense so that they can work freely. We patiently wait and when they put back the cabinets, we found out that they just replaced the damage door. The estimated cost for the cabinets are more than $5,000.00 just to pull out and reset plus re-painting which we think is too much ,if they just replace the affected doors. Why they need to pull it out if they just put the same cabinet, why just replaced the affected door and I believe it has a lesser cost. He did not informed us regarding this matter and instead he told us who said that at a cost of $5,000 all the cabinet will be replaced by a new one. And even it was unacceptable to us we just keep our mouth close. Another issues were happened when they put back the base board it has a big gap between the flooring and the baseboard but this one he said he's going to shoulder the expenses in filling the gap; and when they put back the cabinet on top of the range, i think there is no enough space for microwave to install because it will be so close to the range but before the cabinet was installed we already informed Derrik that the microwave was already there and I think the installer did not measure the size of the microwave for the height provision. When we mentioned it to him he said My staff will try to install it next week but if it does not fit I can’t do anything more." All issues were not communicated first to the owner before they fixed it

Where do I start? From shotty workmanship to ?inexperienced trades people to complete disregard for the homeowners property to gaslighting and ghosting me, it was a complete nightmare. I had an insurance claim and used winmar years ago for a restoration. I asked the insurance company to use winmar. What a mistake. Over the course of eight months, of which I had no use of the only toilet on the main floor of my bungalow, I had to continually put up with what seemed like incompetence. I strongly recommend you steer clear unless you want to hate all that replaces what you had.
