Their Manager is not a very nice lady they suggested a donation center to help with donations and this is what they did, givehopeerie is a joke they make you get a Credit Card first then once you get that they want you to give them an estimate on your vet bill, then apply for medical assistance through their website. That is horrible and despicable my kitty's liver is failing on him. Not everybody has the funds for vet bills. This is a ridiculous process to go through I swear people are heartless including the Manager of Erie Humane Society. She said don't get a pet if you can't afford them. Thank you for the nice kind words and consideration towards us. People are just Heartless!!!!

Everybody is wonderful here. And the good news is that Jesus Christ saves! Become born again today and ask him into your heart to forgive you of all your sins and set Heaven as your goal as you read your Bible.

People were kind and caring. I had a great experience adopting my dog Jazzy. At the time Jazzy kept slipping her collar because it was slightly too big for her and there was no adjustment left in it so the ladies there threw in a free halter that was perfect, (thanks). Would definitely recommend going in and interacting with the animals, ( you might even come home with a new family member ).

I didn't actually go, but I communicated with them about a dog I was interested in adopting. They responded to my message promptly. I greatly appreciate their candor. I explained what my requirements are, and they were refreshingly frank about why that particular dog would not suit me. It's good to know that they are more concerned for her well being than just putting her in any home. I applaud their work ethic and dedication to their animal's welfare. ❤️

Fairly quick service! Had to put my dog down and had them cremation him. Was told 7-10 days before being able to get the ashes, and they called me 3 days after to let me know I was able to pick up the ashes then!

On 1/3/22 we went to EHS to look at adoptable dogs. After looking at the dogs we requested to meet a Lab mix named Bear. After meeting and visiting with Bear we decided to adopt him. All of the workers we encountered we just awesome. They were knowledgeable and caring about the animals. They made the adoption process very easy. We definitely recommend EHS.

They'll probably search my name and destroy my application after this but I guess it doesn't matter because I will, unfortunately, be opening my loving home to a dog from elsewhere. Only 1 of the several staff members seemed like they actually wanted to be there. Another seemed more interested in reading through and judging all of my personal information on the application with a magnifying glass. The main girl at the desk came off as very entitled and condescending. You aren't able to meet any of the dogs in person until you fill out an application and trust their description online. I was skeptical after listening to the way they gossiped and complained about recent surrenders while I was there and later heard not one but two horrifying stories from people at petsmart later that day from people who adopted dogs from this shelter and ended up spending thousands on health conditions the shelter knew about but covered up. Overall, felt like I walked into a Mean Girls take off that didn't care about the animals and felt much more compassion at Droopy Basset Hound Rescue and Chataqua Humane Society.

My husband and I came here to look after we just lost our beloved fur baby after 19 years. We weren't looking to adopt that day, but we ended up getting our new baby anyway. The staff was great, special shout out to Cordelia who made our adoption process so easy! We will always adopt from here! Thank you everyone who works there!
