About the Business

The Cannibal Café | The Cannibal Café is one of Vancouver's favourite restaurants, serving up hand ground Beef Burgers and Authentic Milkshakes in a nostalgic, rockin’, diner-esque environment. The Cannibal Cafe grinds 3 cuts of British Columbia Certified Organic beef; Brisket for it’s flavour, Short Rib for it’s rich marbling and Chuck, ’cause he’s a nice guy. The meat is hand ground daily in house to very specific standards then cooked to perfection.

Came during lunch with a friend for happy hr. The food when arrived was unfortunately warm at best and burger patties were dry. The onions I ordered were good, however only received a total of 4 rings for my order. I understand it’s happy hr price and portion, but you still expect a little bit more. The waitress provided great service however. So overall it was a mediocre experience, but I’d be willing to give another try eventually, maybe it wasn’t the chefs best day?

Been wanting to try this place for a long time. Finally got to try it a few weeks ago. Really liked the laid back atmosphere however it seems to extend to the wait staff and kitchen. Neither seemed to want to be there. The blue cheese burger was tasteful however the patty looked like a regular frozen store bought one and the fries were luke warm. My wife's burger was good and she really liked the onion rings.

Went to Cannibal Cafe on Saturday evening. We got a table right away and our server was really friendly. Cool atmosphere with Vancouver music event posters from the past posted on all the walls. Menu didn’t have a lot of options outside of burgers on a few appies and sides. My burger was delicious and everyone I was with enjoyed there’s too. A bit on the pricey side - $18 for my burger (no fries or anything with it), but other than that, a good spot that I’d go back to.

Went for lunch Dineout. There was only one waiter for the whole place, when it was almost a full house. Service was super slow, waiter was not energetic. I got the wrong appetizer, but he let us have it for free. So we tried it anyway since it was free, but the food was barely warm. The main burger was just passable at best, nothing to write home about. Not to mention everything took forever to come as well. Will not return.

Used to consider these some of the best burgers in the city. Unfortunately, my most recent experience wasn’t great. Burger patties kind of burnt and dry. Great music and service though. Hopefully it can return to its former glory.

5 stars from me. Just around the corner, great staff, excellent vibe, delicious burgers and onion rings. A perfect neighborhood spot for a beer featuring 80s and 90s gig poster decor. Very comfortable.

Came in and was greeted promptly. Ordered our food and proceeded to wait well over 30 minutes for 2 burgers. The table of 3 that sat after us received their food well before ours. When the food finally came the fries were cold, my poutine cheese curds were cold, my gravy was cold, and the burger buns were cold. Burger was mediocre. Didn’t even bother asking for a replacement in fear of waiting another 40 minutes. We came on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was fairly busy, but nothing crazy. Maybe the kitchen was understaffed? Not an excuse though, schedule more people for the day.First time and here and most likely the last.

The Bacon Bad" was pretty good. Didn't have the greatest experience picking up my order though. I ordered through their website on January 14 and it said to come pick up my food at 6:40PM. I showed up a bit early at around 6:35PM and nobody was there to greet me. It seemed pretty full inside so I walked over to the cash register and let the cook
