Oakwood Golf Course

It is an OK course. The course itself is maintained to a reasonable level, given the nature of the somewhat remote/isolated location. Front counter/check-in staff are really not the friendliest or most welcoming at all. But the biggest issue is the price. For what you get, and based on the prices for several other nearby courses these guys are definitely overpriced. You would be much better off travelling the extra 10-15 minutes to La Broquerie. Course is a much better design and layout, friendlier staff and they offer some great deals. Watch for the weekly specials at La Broquerie and you can get a round with cart for substantially less than a walking round at Oakwood. All in all, an OK course but watch for deals at the number of other (and better) nearby courses (La Broquerie, Steinbach Fly-in, Quarry Oaks) and you will have a better golf experience at a better price.

The course has come a long way and is in good shape however more effort could be made in cleaning along the tree lines. Staff is friendly and courteous. A restaurant is on location. The price of $48 for a round of golf seems a bit steep for me in comparison to other courses of comparable size.

Good golf course. Popular course in the area, so it is almost always busy. There are a few challenging holes, but also a lot of holes that are pretty wide open.

The greens.... Wow grounds keeper works hard to keep them great all season long literally from start to finish best greens. The speed it great.I prefer the back 9 but hey I got a lil slice so it works better for me. But it's a beautiful, very well kept place. Def recommend to play!

Nice course, well maintained, with a few corners you can cut and some nice long grass to add a challenge. Trees are not so thick that you can't find your ball and greens are somewhat challenging but not impossible to sink a putt. Highly recommend making the drive down.

Course is in great shape. Worth the drive.

Another lovely course in Manitoba that is well maintained. Oakwood doesn't present too many challenges for a golfer who can keep the ball in the fairway. I only hit driver twice; the majority of par 4s set up perfectly for a long iron off the tee and a short iron or wedge onto the green. The pace of play on the weekends is quite slow. 18 holes with a cart took me 4 hours and 24 minutes. I would go again.

The course is in nice shape and will only get better.The kitchen staff are friendly and the food is good.
