I love this place. The teachers are fantastic, and Vic and Ruth treat you like old friends the minute they meet you. The welcoming atmosphere and the quality of Iyengar instruction is second to none. Having done many types of yoga, I would have to say that Iyengar may not be for everyone, especially those who want to flow and sweat. Iyengar uses a lot of props and a lot of time is spent ensuring proper form. Though I haven't been able to get my flow going in these classes, they have definitely made me a better yogi. I've also come here for prenatal yoga which was great.

Of all the different yoga studios I’ve tried, this one takes the cake. It’s not about the bells and whistles; Here it’s about authenticity and expertise. I’ve seen more progress coming here in three months than I’ve seen going to other places for years.Yoga Director Vic is exceptional at this art and he takes the time to show his students adjustments and alternatives. He’s been studying the skill for decades and knows how to engage his students so they see incredible results and keep coming back for more.If you’re looking for a masterclass in yoga, look no further!

Really solid, no nonsense yoga studio. There is a great community of regulars who go (confession: I'm somewhat sporadic), and fantastic instructors. The quality of teaching is the best I've experienced (I've tried about 4 other yoga studios in the city), and it's really focused on doing the moves properly (and less so on being fancy or spa-like).The classes have had a nice progression to them, e.g. taking you from beginner to more advanced poses as weeks go on.

I started practicing yoga thirty years ago, and during that time I have tried various studios and types of yoga. A few years ago, I discovered Yoga Studio South, a wonderful studio that I highly recommend to everyone. The studio offers a variety of classes, with a focus on Iyengar Yoga. Students who are new to yoga can take an excellent workshop to learn the basics and then progress to Level 1. For more experienced students, there are Iyengar Level 2 and 3 classes which provide the chance to refine poses and learn more challenging variations, all with individualized attention to the specific needs of each student. I have taken classes at every level, and I have learned a lot from them all. In addition, I have attended some amazing workshops with senior teachers, another bonus for students who go to Yoga Studio South. With its pleasant waiting area, herbal tea, and welcoming staff, the Yoga Studio builds a sense of community for those who come regularly. And of course, most importantly, the instructors at the studio are well-trained, friendly, and dedicated to what they do. If you want a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with excellent teaching in a clean and sunny space, you should try out Yoga Studio South.

I have tried to start yoga 3 times prior at other locations and have given up within 3 sessions. 4th time lucky, I could not be happy with yoga Sarana. I have been to vic and martha’s Classes. Vic is fantastic, he provides great instruction without making you feel like you are a nuisance to the class. Martha is also great, her relaxed vibe sets the tone for the class. Highly recommend. Ps it’s a little tricky initially to work out how to get in, I suggest calling reception prior

Awesome yoga studio! Loved the class and the cafe. There’s lots of street street parking and it’s easy to walk to since I live close by! I had a London fog and croissant sandwich before class and they were really good, and the pistachio is literally the best cookie I’ve ever had. Vic is an awesome instructor and I felt very relaxed, and my muscles that were tight felt amazing.

One of my favorite yoga studios! I have studied Iyengar Yoga with Ruth & Vic for the past few years, and love the warm, friendly atmosphere and tremendous knowledge of the instructors here. Iyengar yoga is structurally based and designed for healing and balancing the body. The different levels and non-judgemental approach are welcome. Love this studio!!

Was really unimpressed. I came with a friend for our first time, and clearly entered a class of regulars that we were disturbing by being there. No mirrors in studio, no music played, no breathing exercises. No change room. Random assortment of poses, including use of metal folding chairs and blankets. My main issue was that the instructor called me by name the entire time. He didn't smile or encourage us. I left feeling very unrelaxed and frustrated. Not to mention the class was almost 2 hours long.

The owner of this building put up a handicap sign AFTER I was parked in the stall behind the building and called the parking authority on me. I was fined $200 for parking behind the building in what was an unmarked stall when I had initially parked. After I moved he had parked there in a vehicle that did not have a handicap placard and removed the handicap sign from the building. Not only does that stall not meet the city’s handicap parking requirements but this behavior is an abuse of signage.Such bad business behavior. If I could give zero stars for a review I would. The yoga studio might be nice but the owner of the building is looking to stick people with $200 fake handicap parking tickets. Watch out.

I'm new to yoga and I was very hesitant to take a class. The staff were really helpful and walked me through all the different options for passes and which class would best suit my experience. So I took the class, I loved it.The teacher was really friendly and helpful. I will definitely be taking more classes.
