HOTEL OCHO

The location was PERFECT for my needs (I was attending an event nearby) and so I paid more than I normally would for a room. (I stay in hotels about once a month.) The building/room concept is cool, with high ceilings, exposed brick, a gorgeous large window in the room and big, beautiful washrooms. There was a mini fridge in my room and a sliding pocket door for the washroom (to address things in other reviews). There is a lot of wear showing, though, with stains on the carpet, and paint chips on the doors and furnishings. The staff I dealt with were not overly friendly and not helpful at all. I was overall disappointed and didn't feel it was worth the price paid.

Food here is decent, but the real highlight is the space. If you need a place for large groups (ex: ~10 people), the dining area here is normally pretty open so you don’t normally need a reservation ahead of time. The staff are also super nice and accommodating.The kimchi fries don’t really have any kimchi - they’re more cheese fries with mayo and seaweed. They’re still pretty good, but not legitimate kimchi fries, so keep that in mind when ordering!

If I could give 10 stars, I would. I had my rehearsal dinner the Friday before my wedding at Hotel Ocho, and it was the most amazing event. Sela (event coordinator) goes above and beyond in every way. She answers emails, phone calls and questions instantaneously. She is gracious and patient and brings the best, genuine, upbeat vibes to your event while catering to your every need. I cannot say enough good things. All of the staff at Hotel Ocho are amazing, every server and bartender was the perfect balance of fun and polished professionalism, especially the manager Morgan, who goes above and beyond! The staff here really add the extra sparkle to an already awesome space. The venue itself is gorgeous, the food is amazing...it's hard for me to picture having an event anywhere else in the future.10/10.

Went here for my friends, Io and Koren's wedding. It was an incredible experience with the best food possible at a wedding.It was an incredibly memorable night and we danced the entire night away - definitely one of the best weddings that I've been to in Toronto.

Excellent location, staff were really friendly and professional. The room was large, clean and comfortable with big windows. The bed was especially comfortable.There are lots of great coffee shops very close, especially Dark Horse.Couple of small suggestions - one of the cleaning products used has a very strong smell, perhaps open the windows after using it?It would also have been great to have the window opening lever/crank in the room when we checked in.

We first fell in love with Hotel Ocho because it's such a beautiful space, and it was by far the most affordable option we found in downtown Toronto.But, over the months of working with Sela to plan plan our wedding, we were blown away by the kindness and professionalism we were shown.Sela answered every email and question, no matter how small, and helped us put together a perfect day.The staff on the day of went above and beyond to make sure our guests felt accomodated and taken care of.We've already recieved so many compliments on the food, service and accomodation of needs like allergies. We are so happy to have chosen Ocho and couldn't recommend it more.

Awesome location, close to tons of amenities, great concept. It was unfortunately VERY dirty in our room (had a half used lotion/shampoo), extremely humid in the room and we didn't have consistent hot water in the shower - second night we had cold showers after front desk tried to fix the issue. Some fresh paint and a solid clean would make this place a 5.

This wedding venue has my heart. I love how intimate and warm the space is, and to find this in the heart of the bustling city is just a total rare gem find. Love love love.

Enjoyed our stay here recently. Great location, nice clean room, and very comfortable bed. Only thing I would change is maybe moving check in time from 4pm to 3 pm and perhaps adding a door to the bathroom. Will definitely be staying there again though!

I can't thank Hotel OCHO enough for its location because everything about it is really just central. I had an event so I was really grateful that I had got somewhere a stone throw away.The rooms are great and spacious and the character each room has just makes it 1000% worth it. Its one of those boutique hotels where everything has that special feeling.The brick walls, huge windows, and great shower experience are one of the few things that makes this hotel stand out.I have a series of meeting in Toronto and I really hope to spend a couple more weeks there.
