As a freelancer, I was having trouble understanding my values, my skillset, and how everything fit together. I was unhappy with my employer at the time and wasn't sure if what I was doing was what I was meant to do. I always felt a bit of resistance in my industry as it wasn't fulfilling and I was unhappy. I spend a lot of time in my career, and I didn’t want to be thinking of it in a negative light. After the Career Clarity Program, I have more confidence in terms of my skill set, and strengths, and identifying the industry I'm really passionate about. I know I want to have a career that is multifaceted and allows me to use many different passions, interests, and skills. I'm feeling empowered now that I know what I want and why!

Working with Rebecca bought about the career change I'd been hoping for. Through her guidance and support, I narrowed down on 2-3 top career choices. Using Rebecca's techniques to brainstorm/ job search/ research, I gained a lot of confidence in myself! Having someone holding me accountable through the entire journey was essential for me. I'd tried brainstorming and researching by myself but found I never really got anywhere because I'd get distracted or put it to the side. Through our conversations and exercises, I ultimately went from working in the non-profit sector in a job I didn't like, to gaining employment at UBC in the exact position I'd been targeting! Rebecca does not guarantee employment after you've worked together, that part is up to you, but if you're willing to put the effort in then it's very likely you'll see results. I had a fantastic experience with Rebecca. I was considering going back to school, and I was mulling over a few different options. I had no idea which one to pick until I met with her. Even though we only had one session together, it was extremely valuable and informative for me. After an exercise where she asked me to rank my career/life values, it immediately became clear to me which educational path I wanted to pursue the most. I have a lot more clarity from my experience of working with Rebecca. She was able to assess my needs with me and she developed a program to fit my needs.
