Beacon Heights Retirement Residence

Our aunt passed away and she was living there for quite a while, never even got a card from them, $$$$$$$ thats all they care about. And all residents share same address so you can't even do a mail forwarding, do they care that we have to drive 2 hours to pick up our aunt's mail once a week as she passed away? Absolutely not. WDo not recommend this place at all.

If I could give no stars I would, I would give negative 100 for the management, treatment of the service industry is ridiculous. I have never been so disrespected in my life. I couldn't imagine how they treat the people who live here!! Definitely will be boycotting this place to everyone I know.

We recently moved our 90 year old mother from a 600 person very large and impersonal autonomous seniors residential complex in Montreal to Beacon Heights in Ottawa. BH is smaller, more functional yet with all the same amenities as in larger residences. When you open the front door and access the reception area you know that you are home. The central fireplace helps in this regard, however it is the staff, all around.Kind hearted, understanding, professional, knowledgeable personnel from the receptionist, the PSW personnel, office staff, director of care, all the way up to senior leadership. The activities coordinators are just great when working out socialization or memory care activities. Cannot say enough about their Blossom Care nemory socialization program and their PSW employees equally assisting autonomous living seniors with extra attention when requested and when required. Medical attention and medication assistance are also provided. We enjoyed the restaurant and food as well during our arrival period. Three meals per day are provided to many of the residents.The residence is geographically close to doctors, dentists, govt offices, pharmacies, restaurants and grocery stores. Our mother went from a huge two bedroom seniors apt in Montreal to a small one bedroom apt at Beacon Heights. We love her new place as it is compact, functional, and heartwarming. When you are out and about doing things during the day in the building well you do not need a large apt living space. If you do, well there are indeed larger apts for other lifestyles. If you searching for a place for a loved one requiring or not requiring daily assistance , where people do care, please give them a visit. An added plus for us is that it is roughly equidistant between the Western and Eastern areas of Ottawa and close enough to downtown for easy access by family members for visitation purposes and outings.

Beacon Heights dose a great job at providing residents with the best care! They have the best management team who are super supportive of their residents and staff. Your needs will ALWAYS be met here!! Home or not you will feel welcomed with big arms <3

My mother has now been a resident at Beacon Heights Retirement Residence (on a care floor) for over a month and I am very satisfied with the care and services provided. The care staff have been extremely patient and understanding as my mother adjusts to her new home. Thank you so much! My emails to the care staff are replied to promptly. Our compliments to the chef and the attentive food services team! There is always an excellent selection of tasty menu items and presented with care. The staff at reception are always friendly and very helpful. The hairstylist is kind and conscientious, gave my mother a great perm and cut and her rates are reasonable. While I hope my mother takes advantage of more of the varied daily activities offered at the residence, she has very much appreciated the regular music entertainment. She is also liking that her bright and spacious one-bedroom unit can accommodate the furnishings she is fond of and provides the space to circulate in her wheelchair. Patio sessions are probably over now, but my mother and I did get to enjoy quite a few mild and sunny afternoons out on the residence’s spacious patio. Now we are enjoying spending some time in the spacious and well-appointed lobby with television and two-sided fireplace. I feel very fortunate that the Executive Director, responded so quickly to my query when I was looking for a senior residence and that the Business Office Manager, took us on such a comprehensive tour of the lovely residence in September that made us decide on Beacon Heights. She was the first kind and conscientious staff member we met in person at the residence and our great first impression has not disappointed us. The other day, the son of another resident told me that I will very quickly be relieved that we decided on Beacon Heights – I already am!

As a Telecom technician servicing residents in this residence, the front receptionist, management, and all staff are respectful, Courteous and kind. Maintenance staff is always prompt unless dealing with priority issues. Any access issues are swiftly dealt with, and executed professionally. I haven’t ever experienced any negativity with staff in the years this building has been open. as a seasoned tech with over 15 years experience in Ottawa it’s always a pleasure to perform service and installs here.

From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed and your loved one also feels at home. The staff is very kind and the management team run off their feet to help meet your needs. It's a nice place for your loved one to call home!

A place that makes sure their residents have fun . Special events . Lots of smiles at Beacon Heights .

What an absolute disgrace of a retirement residence. Their lack of respect to the service industry is second to none. I can't even imagine how they treat the residents. For $6000.00/monthly, with less than...if not equal to 500sq'...they aren't provided meals that the staff&chefs would even eat (after asked if they would). Mind you, the degenerate liars (i.e chef staff claiming to be managers) they hire as staff are immensely disrespectful, rude, insanely entitled, and not accommodating whatsoever to the service industry.

Very upset,My mother-in-law has not had a good experience in the past while. Staff availability has become a major issue. Food has taken a significant downturn. Either not coming as listed on menu or well below par for what is acceptable. No more jello with every meal please.Neeed pills to arrive at the specified time between 7am and 8am and not at noon.
