Samatva Yoga

I've been a attending member of Samatva Yoga for 12 years. All level of yoga practices are offered in person and online so lots of versatility no matter what your time line in addition to the added YouTube videos offered by the many professional teachers.

Samatva was my favourite studio in Kingston but when they closed the downtown location and I could no longer go, I received no money back or option to cancel my membership. My E-mails were ignored, and I lost about $200 that I won’t get back.

If you arrive right when class starts the doors will be locked. Most studios I’ve been to start with shavasana and it’s normal that patrons may trickle in within 1-2 minutes. While I can respect the studio’s policy, it’s something to keep in mind if you’ve been to other studios that don’t have this in place. What’s strange is there is a phone number to call if the door is locked, which I did not do as I find it’d be more disruptive the other class members than quietly coming inside. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before class and wait for the doors to unlock? Not something I’ve come across.

I love practicing here. I'm new (again) to yoga and they've made me feel very comfortable starting again. The introduction series with Lorraine was very helpful. I love that they have two studios and that they have a variety of room temperature classes too. Also, their online classes are a great option and well done too.

Warm welcoming atmosphere, teaching a variety of styles. Always has deals on for memberships during the year. Love the suspension yoga and hot focus and flow! Also has an online library of classes.

In the 13 years of yoga I've done since living in Kingston and attending Samatva, there has been no comparison. The visual cues, inner focus and personalized coaching that I received from phenomenal instructors, recurs in vivid memory with most poses in my current practice. I miss the studio and thank you, Jaimie, for making me feel at home during a very lonely time.

We love Samatva!!! The teachers are excellent, knowledgable and kind. Their customer service is fantastic and their fees are more than reasonable. Classes always begin on time and their covid check-in process is smooth and efficient every time. HIGHLY recommend!

Most of my yoga experience has been at Samatva, a wonderful variety of classes by the most knowledgeable teachers + staff!
