Stemmler Meats - Retail Store

May 3rd.--I drive quite a distance to buy exclusively Stemmler's summer sausage; however, this latest purchase of their pork/beef sausage is apparently a new recipe with a slightly bitter taste and what would seem to be a lack of spices and flavour. Unfortunately, given the $3 rise in price within the last year and the distance I travel to get their(now) unsatisfactory sausage, I will be going back to buying Noah Martin product from my local store.

Probably the best butcher in Region of Waterloo! Outstanding cuts of meat, fantastic smoked hams and fresh poultry, especially the Christmas turkeys. Great staff, very knowledgeable. Not cheap but quality never is. Store can be crowded so consider going weekdays if possible.

We LOVE their burgers, and our dogs love the pig ears. It's a great store if you want fresh bread meat and cheese at a decent price, then this is the place to go.

Very friendly and helpful staff, the pork butt roast (bone in) was truly fantastic....perfect and economical for the slow cooker. Very pleased with this recommendation. I will be trying all different products in the future...they have recipes available if you aren't sure how to prepare some products.

Great meat store in Heidelberg, and they have so much more. I stop by for some steaks ... and I come home with a sheet of bacon, some smoked hocks, eggs, pretzel buns, and a bottle of red wine.Can you ask for more?

Great butcher. Great prices. We come here mostly every 2 weeks for the crumbled bacon we use in dishes, salads and so forth. Looking at the prices, you get 2 lbs of crumbled bacon for the price of 1 small package in the grocery stores. It is a small store but everything is so fresh and the staff always go above and beyond

Purchased my 3rd turkey from Stemmlers for this years thanksgiving dinner. It was great. Great quality and easy service. Lots of sides, cheeses, and desserts to add on as well.

Awesome selection of fresh, frozen and smoked meats along with other odds and ends, including fresh baked treats, cheeses and condiments.

Great meats, in general, (best ribeye steak EVER) but some things are sub par - for example, the chicken shishkebobs are very skimpy with only 3 pieces of chicken... Not to be bought again. However, the London broil is good although the cheese melts away during cooking PLEASE USE HALUMI CHEESE for all grilling dishes,Mr Stemmler! It doesn't melt! The other problem with this place is the staff tends to complain if you want to buy a lot(huh??). Yes, if you ask for 6 steaks or 8 pieces of rouladin you will be chastised by the staff for buyi g too much and not calling ahead! I thought Butcher shops want to sell a lot of meat, but not Stemmler's. Just a little for all, please....

Really good selection of meats, great staff, and overall great service. My BBQ go-to butcher.
