Blaisdale Montessori School - O'Brien Campus - Ajax

Constant turnover of staff seems to be a recurring theme. My daughter has had five teachers in eight months. Sadly the last teacher they removed seem to be the most interested in the well-being and education of my daughter. Teachers come and go with no explanation. It continuously feels like you're dropping your children off to strangers.

I had Mrs. Lee Wo from Grades 1-3 and will always remember feeling loved, supported and excited to learn. She's amazing at appreciating each student's unique abilities while encouraging success in all subjects. Mrs. Lee Wo is the reason I've wanted to be a teacher since I was 5, and 20 years later I still do! The teachers at this school are incredible - there's nothing they wouldn't do for their students' success.

We couldn't have found a better place for our daughter's education. She has been surprising us everyday with the new things that she learned. The constant feedback we receive from the teachers and staff offers us a full peace of mind. There is this overwhelming positive energy at Blaisdale Montessori that is perceptible every morning that we drop her off. Keep up the amazing work!!!

The teachers and staff at Blaisdale Montessori, Westney Campus are TRUE educators!!! Our children have flourished both academically and emotionally over the past eight years at this school. All the teachers at this school are CARING professionals, but Mrs. Lee Wo, will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Mrs. Lee Woo is thoughtful, kind, and cares deeply about children, and creates a safe and supported learning environment in her classroom. Under her guidance, our daughter has grown into a confident and capable child. The world needs more teachers like Mrs. Lee Wo!!Kirk and Aretha Huntley

My kids have attended Blaisdale for several years and as a family it has always been a great experience.In particular Mrs. Lee Wo, the lower elementary teacher has been an excellent teacher. She is engaging, patient and always knew how to bring out the best out of her students.My son has experienced tremendous growth in the 3 years in her class and we will be forever grateful for her passion and dedication to teaching. She is truly invested in the children's success.

The admission teacher at this campus told me they can not accommodate my son who is nonverbal, But using communication device. She also told me if the kids at preschool have potty accident. They will let the kids clean up and get changed by themselves. The teachers will not help. I am really disturbing by the call with her. I feel she turned me away because my son has special needs.

Blaisdale Montessori Westney Campus is an exceptional learning environment. From the professionalism, creativity and individualized focus on each and every student, this includes all staff knowing my children's names. Upon taking a tour or visiting a open house at Blaisdale, the cleanliness and order is apparent. All year through rain, snow and the awesome muddy shoes of spring, the hallways, walls, and bathrooms of the school are keep to a level of clean I've never witnessed in an academic environment before. On the topic of academics, my just turned six year old is embarking on reading chapters books, and my eight year old has spelling words that include pericarp. Students learn not only academics including botany, zoology, and astronomy but amazing life skills such as time management, mentorship and personal responsibility. On any given day, a student will wait and hold the door and say good morning. The respect students have for each other is unprecedented in my experience, and the caring and time older students give to mentor younger students is a game changer. Watching my son flourish and recognizing the reward and self satisfaction of helping others is priceless. Looking for a school for your child is nerve racking with all the available options today. Blaisdale offers not only the Montessori teachings but French, twice weekly gym class (Gr 1 to 8), weekly music class, weekly art class, before and after school childcare, in class recognition of the students birthday all in a amazing school facility.Parents discuss and ask: Why Blaisdale? The answer is quite simple: the staff. Everyday I interact with my children's teachers and any questions or concerns are welcomed and encouraged not just tolerated. Our children spend hours with their teacher everyday.  Although a teacher has many students, each and every encounter with staff has always been treated with such respect and importance never rushed or overlooked. We can gift someone with the best tools in the world but they need to know how to use them. Blaisdale equips each student so they are able to have a positive relationship with learning and the remarkable thing is each and every student approachs education in their own unique way.With so many choices we as parents make everyday, it's overwhelming. Blaisdale in Ajax is the absolute best place for my children. I took many tours of many schools before choosing Blaisdale. My opinion is just my opinion, so if you're considering schools perhaps a tour at Blaisdale will allow you to make your choice. Ms. Boudrias is available to give school tours at 95-426-5665. Terrible experience with staff and principal. In 2020, I paid $250 to enrol my son in the toddler program because the pre-toddler program had been cancelled. In mid-January 2021, two weeks before my first month’s cheque was cashed (although his planned start date was March 22 a couple days before his first birthday, cheques are cashed the first of the month prior), I called the school and told them my son wasn’t walking yet, and probably wouldn’t qualify for the toddler program. I asked if they had any plans to re-start the pre-toddler program and they said there was no plans or any information about a pre-toddler program. The administrator said rather than pull him out of the toddler program, since he wasn’t starting till late March, that I could wait till end of February to check in with them if he was walking yet, but if he wasn’t, then I could delay his start date. I looked into delaying my return to work date but as a single mom could not afford that option so I found another daycare, paid another registration fee there and was in the process of finalizing his registration documents when the Montessori cashed my March cheque on February 1. I called to ask why, and they informed me that they had opened the pre-toddler program. After some consideration I asked for a refund for March, since I was not informed of the new program and was told I had till end of February to contact them. The principal never returned my calls or emails. I had to go through the Province of Ontario Consumer protection mediation to get a response then the principal lied and said we had settled the matter, and gave false information. We never settled anything. I wish I could take them to court but the fees for the court process are too much I think, and I’m swamped working a full time job and caring for my infant. I’m going to speak to a lawyer tomorrow.

The school was wonderful, but the teachers are what made it the best for me. Mrs. Lee Wo was my teacher for a few years and made me fall in love with school and life-long learning. She made it fun and made me feel like I was capable of excelling in all subjects with a bit of effort and guidance. I gained skills those years that I use every single day and I couldn't be more grateful to the school, and mostly to Mrs. Lee Wo.

This school is OUTSTANDING!!!. The teachers, staff and principal are first rate. They have high standards and are caring and give individual attention to the children and families. The program and facilities are the highest quality in the area. This is the place to go if you want a premium education for your kids.
