Adam trained my previous dog quite a few years ago and is now training my new pup. I really appreciate that he tailors the training to suit each dog and owner. Before we started training in person, he took the time to learn about my pup, to explain the science behind the training methods we would be using, and he gave me some strategies to implement at home. He runs a great in person training session, and he provides clear direction and support so that I can confidently continue that training at home with my pup. He has a really calm energy with my dog (who can be quite shy) and is so knowledgeable about training dogs. I would highly recommend!

Great experience with my dog. My dog has very bad aggression issues towards dogs and people. He is much more controllable and calmer in the situations in a matter of 4 weeks of the boarding program. They are great trainers and great people there. At first my dog wanted to attack all of them and then they managed to be his best friend!

The worst training facility ever! I took my 5 months old baby Pomeranian for 3 weeks training program! I paid around 1,500 $ ! The only thing I got back is dirty stinky puppy who's scared and afraid of everything! The same day I got home he had bad diarrhea for almost 3 weeks! I do understand that sometimes dogs get sick when they are stressed but not for three weeks! It was so difficult to deal with him! They never called me after I took him back to ask about him and they never sent me the paperwork! I've been waiting since February!! The thing that is bothering me the most that my Pom was never trained! I had to do all the work again after taking him back! So basically I lost my money and my pom's trust that I've been trying to regain since February!

I take my bulldog here. He has been to many different daycares over the years and what is unique about Fort Dog is that they group dogs into smaller groups according to their temperaments. I think it's really awesome because not all dogs want to play all the time and with a calmer and slower dog, sometimes it is overwhelming if the dog is just with a big group of hyper energy dogs. Highly recommend this place, especially if your dog isn't the typical happy go lucky all time but more shy , needs extra time to warm up and some space!

My dog has been to many, many trainers and this one is the best! My dog is great - but he is a rescue, and he had some reactivity issues, anxiety issues, he had been abused before we got him, combine that with the fact that he is so energetic and just wants to bounce around all day - it makes for some frustrating times. When I contacted AKA K9, I was at the end of my leash! I was tired of always having my dog bark at anything that moved on a walk, I was tired of him pulling all the time, I was tired of people staring at me, and judging me like I'm the worlds worst owner, because I couldn't control my dog. I was tired of him never listening, and throwing little dog tantrums in the house; where he would basically tear around in circles and bark constantly at 3am. It was all very, very frustrating. (I think my neighbours were at the end of their leash too.)I initially contacted them with the intent to board and train my dog. The owner, Adam spent a good 20-30 minutes with me on the phone, explaining his techniques and his different programs. He was very nice on the phone and seemed to be quite knowledgable so I decided to sign up for a consultation package they had at the time, which included a consultation and a private lesson. I went for the consultation where I brought my dog and he talked in-depth about my dogs issues, my goals, and some resolutions which really helped, and we developed a training path. He was realistic about the time, and work I had to put in, and how long it would take. I decided to not go for the board and train route and I went to the private training class that was included instead to start. The private training lesson was life changing. I saw so so so much improvement after that one day, I learned so much that helped immensely on his walks and in his day to day life. Honestly, Adam was with him for an hour and he was so good with him, you could see right away that he knew how to handle dogs and create a good relationship between owner and dog. He gave us so much information that we understood and we were able to apply at home. After that, I worked with my dog for a few weeks. (we had a lot of work to do.) and it was so rewarding to actually see results! lots of improvements, all around. It so happened, that they were starting a group class right when I was about to book another private lesson, and I decided to put my dog in it. I wasn't sure if he would be ready for a group setting; he tends to get other dogs riled up around him and be very leash reactive. However, everything went smoothly. They really are professionals, and knew how to run the class efficiently and every staff member was great with the dogs. When my dog first started the class he would bark, and be so crazy until Adam or his staff came over. He also got very distracted by all the dogs, but at the end of the 7 weeks, he walked in and sat down calmly, ignoring the dogs and things around him. He was basically a different dog by the end of it, and his behaviour at home is like a new dog. I can take him on a walk and be barely reacts to anything around him. He still has work to do, don't get me wrong, but I am so proud of him!!After working with AKA K9 for the past few months (I think it has been around 4 or 5 since my first consultation) I have seen more improvements then I thought were possible. The thing that is also really great is that Adam is so open about being able to contact him whenever you need assistance, advice or have any issues. He really seems to care about each dog he works with and building a successful relationship between owner and dog. I will continue to work with Adam and his team at AKA K9 as I do believe, he is the best trainer out there. I live in Downtown Vancouver, and I drive 40 minutes to get to his training facility, I would not do that if it wasn't worth it.It kind of makes me annoyed at all the money I spent on the other trainers, (I know that sounds kind of cheesy but its true) I wish we had just found this company from the get go.Strongly, strongly, strongly recommend.

Adam and his support staff welcomed our pup Lola with open arms and an open mind. Lola is a rescue who is high energy and has high anxiety. Adam was able to get her to follow his lead on walks, eat from our hand (to build trust) and was able to teach her some manners. We paid for the package that gave us a detailed report of areas of concern and ways to address those concerns at home. Adam also gave us support as 'parents' to Lola by explaining what it means to be a strong owner. Although we live in Surrey, we travel to Fort Langley for all our training and boarding, since we trust Adam and his staff with our pup!

We have had nothing but incredible service from all the staff at AKA K9, especially Adam.About 8 months ago we rescued our dog who had high anxiety, was aggressive due to fear, was unpredictable and didn't trust any strangers to come near him. We were afraid to have guests in our house without him being on a leash and could not take him for walks as he would lunge at everyone we passed.Since working with Adam our dog is a completely changed dog! He still has a bit of anxiety with strangers but we can now actually feel comfortable taking him for walks and having people in our home, as Adam has taught us many strategies on how to deal with the behaviour.Adam has been extremely patient with us and our dog and very flexible in working around our schedules to ensure we were getting exactly what we needed for training. He has also answered my countless e mails every time I've had a bad day with the dog he is right there to shoot an e mail back giving me suggestions. He is very professional and always checks in to make sure we are satisfied with what we have learned from our sessions with him.AKAK9 is the ONLY place we feel comfortable leaving our dog over night or for a weekend when we go away.

bad service, after one week or my dog left there for training, I was told there was no one there to give me a progress report but would e-mail me. Her blanket was given to me wet, her plush toy was not returned and the dog does not appear to have been trained at anything....so $400 later it seems she was just boarded there which I did not need to do. Would not recommend for itraining. 15 years of repeaded business with B.C. Canine No. 3 Rd. Richmond. very very hightly recommend!!!

I really needed help with my reactive Bullie breed. Brought him in AKA K9 boot camp, also had a couple training session within the 4 week program. I'm amazed I can now walk my dog on a lose" leash

My pup has been going to day care here regularly and she absolutely loves it! Always comes back tired and the girls are so sweet with her and tell me how her day was. I feel super comfortable leaving her there as I know she's in great hands :)
