Dalhousie Community Kindergarten

We LOVE this Playschool!!! The teaching staff is incredible- very engaging & caring. My daughter can’t wait for school every week.

This unique & independent kindergarten has been incredibly amazing to all three of my kids (and me). I would highly recommend this program to anyone with a junior kindergartener or kindergartener. My kids had swimming lessons, skating lessons and all sorts of fun outings (Butterfield acres, Safety City to name a few) and also had many cool in-class programs (i.e. Calgary Reptile Parties & Mad Science, Planting their own plants in the garden box etc. etc.). The teaching staff is super friendly and there is a high focus on getting the kids outside every day. My kids started reading their first little books during their school year here, something which was super exciting to see as a parent.My last little guy is set to finish here in a weeks time and I have cherished my kids' time at this school. I cannot say enough good things about this program.

My daughter has attended this playschool since last fall and loves it. The program is excellent, and most importantly, the teachers are warm, caring, and engaging. She can't wait to do another year here!

A perfect place for our kids to begin their education. Lovely and dedicated staff, small class sizes and lots of fun and educational activities!

Both of my children went to this preschool and it was such a wonderful experience. They loved Mrs Wiles & she is so engaged with the programming & all the children. I highly recommend this program to others.

I would not recommend this preschool program. The parent committee was very disorganized, and we did not feel welcome joining in January 2022. The teacher was also quick to unprofessionally label my child after approximately eight classes together, with social delays. She decided to have the conversation with me in front of another parent. Clearly yes he was behind, due to covid isolation, but it was clear the teacher/staff did not go out of their way to teach him social skills like joining a group, or actively helping him to learn to play with other students. They did not include him, they just let him do his own thing with a favourite toy- “child led”.I was also not allowed in to observe, and communication about the classroom activities was very poor and not a priority. I received one photo of my son over the course of two months there, no other personal communication (not even at the door in passing, they were too busy dressing children) and about two summary paragraphs of what the class was doing in a newsletter. He brought home two craft pages in those two months. A LOT of class time was used to “line up”, and also undress and dress students for outside play. My son went onto another program after two months, learned a lot socially, and thrived elsewhere. Proceed with caution!

Our family loves this school. We have been here four years. The teachers are amazing, creative and genuinely care about the kids. They have thought of different activities that are the perfect balance between play and learning. We chose this school because the classroom is bright and welcoming, the curriculum is unique and the playground is great to run off energy. We've bonded with a lot of families here. The school has a great community feel. I can't say enough about the school and the teachers.

An excellent program! Lots of extra activities and support for individual children. Small class size and amazing teacher.
