Philemon Wright High School

Graduated back in 2001 and had some great Memories of this High School. Some teachers were better than others, but overall was a very decent High School.

The school looks dirty and neglected. Front door did not see any cleaning for many years. Not all teachers really care about what they do. Communication with staff is very poor.

The teachers are well educated and know how to deliver dense course material, effectively, efficiently and in a manner that elicits a well round teaching environment for its students.They're continual devotion towards a pursuit of higher education, of class management, and sculpting of policiescoupled with proactive teachers that encourage them. Gaining a safe and healthy classroom experience for everyone there.

School is in terrible conditions some staff jus don’t care. I saw one of the people who help the special Ed kids straight up neglect the kid and let him eat stuff of the floor, which is also dirtier than the boys washroom here and those are just nasty. All the girls here are mid too.

- kids here get bullied and even worse horrible things, while the administration does absolutely nothing and completely ignores any serious complaints. they have absolutely zero structure/system to address serious threats and dangers (ex. harassment) other than an outdated handbook that's been the exact same for 20 years. the amount of attempted (and actual) suicides that have been caused by the absolute atrocity of a school is such an unspeakable thing. kids are treated as cows in a herd, which makes them feel less important and lonely. combine social pressure and unsupportive adults around you and you have a really bad mix.- WQSB as well has neglected the learning material to be designed for only one type of person while not accomadating people with disabilities. for anyone with any sort of undiagnosed ADHD, autism, and the sort, they are at a serious disadvantage for that the teachers are not properly trained to aid in those ways like simply extending due dates (due to bottom of the barrel wages).- *some* of the teachers really are shining diamonds, but they get crushed under the pressure of upkeeping classrooms while having to pay out of their own pocket to make it not look like a jail. the result? amazing teachers (lost in the sea of other teachers who should never be around children) who lose their charm over years of exhaustion and terrible pay, especially in this recession we are in.-in conclusion, there needs to be a serious overhaul of this school, but more importantly the system the school operates by. as I have gone through Hadley Philemon wright myself years ago, I still feel as strongly that there needs to be immediate change today. to say this place is a disappointment is a severe understatement.

As a student at this school, they don’t give the best counselling and they treat grade 7&8 like babies and 9,10&11 like grown ups... some teachers rlly need to get fired and doesn’t rlly help with bullying... don’t rlly recommend this school

I went here back in early 2000s and I can't say the school was bad. My behaviour and attendance was what made my experience bad. The staff were great and did very well with the budget Quebec gave them. This was before the forest was torn down in the back n there was no aqueduct thing.

Everyone that says it's bad just doesn't like school, I've been to a bad school and this is not one. Great school, great atmosphere and I got bullied " people: you don't know what bullying is."

bad school teacher's are over worked and sometimes bring it out on students, fights happen every day, they dont fix issues with bullying or threats they tell you to go to the police or they'll suspended the person and doesn't fix anything. if you defend yourself because the principals or the teacher's wont do anything you'll get suspended. teacher's doing/saying stuff thats not appropriate or should be getting more then a warning from. everything is drama at hpw.
