Wentworth Landscapes

We have been working with Wentworth Landscapes on a major three phase landscaping project of which we are 50% complete. I cannot say enough about their professionalism as well as the quality of their work. They fully listen to your needs and requirements, then turn it into an incredible design concept and vision. The renderings they create for the customer to be able to fully visualize the final outcome are absolutely amazing! The Wentworth team is extremely organized from design, to project management, thru to onsite installation work. They are meticulous about all details including codes and local County requirements. They follow-thru on their commitments. So far, we are extremely impressed with their work.

Almost ten years ago, as we were completing our new house in The County, we were recommended to Wentworth's for our landscaping. After an initial meeting, design drawings were presented, along with their quotation - which we accepted. The project was completed and we have been very pleased with it from day one. Since then, we have had several other, smaller projects undertaken by Wentorth's, one of which is still ongoing and the quality hasn't changed. They may not be the cheapest show in town but the real value is in the quality of their people, their work and care for their clients.

My shoreline was badly damaged in the record breaking flood in 2017 and 2019. Luckily I found Wentworth Landscapes online and contacted them for rebuilding the shoreline. Their response was instant. The project started in Feb 2020 during the pandemic breakout and finished on time in May. This is the company you can rely on. They are professional, easy to work with, always responsive and on time! I am very impressive with the high quality of their work and great value. Special thanks to Jim Philip for managing the project and smoothing things out and got the things done perfectly in a difficult time!

The company expanded from landscaping to doing full-building construction and is clearly in my firsthand experience unable to operate in a professional manner. Their 2022 project in my Picton neighbourhood is damaging the property of neighbours and the company has made no effort to address the damage on my property or prevent further damage. The owners tell me that they have spoken with Wentworth about the issue, but Wentworth has not attempted to communicate with me. I feel sorry for the owners who will have to deal directly on an ongoing basis with the anger, frustration, and liability of their new neighbours, due to negligent project management. Obviously, their management and supervision are not up to the job of managing complex projects that need to respect other property owners. House construction in dense areas is always complicated and everyone needs to be reasonable, but if you have neighbours on which you would like to remain on friendly terms, look elsewhere for a construction company.UPDATE - November 11-2022Hello Owner Wentworth,I will share with you my further experience regarding the damage Wentworth caused to my property. We were able to connect with the Project Manager in the summer. I had to get her contact information through another project adjacent neighbour, who also had issues with Wentworth. I was told at the time that due to high staff turnover that she was the third Project Manager on this short project. We met with this Project Manager in person and inspected site. She acknowledged the damage by Wentworth and promised that the driveway and lawn would be repaired. We asked for this in writing. Nothing was received and no further contact was made. I then learned that she had shortly after our meeting also left Wentworth. We arranged (not attempt to meet or communicate was made by Wentworth) another meeting with another Wentworth project manager later in the summer. He also acknowledged the damage and promised that both repairs would be made in the fall. He also ensured us that no further damage would occur. We also asked for this commitment in writing. Nothing has happened, no landscape or driveway repair has been made to date. No written acknowledgement of responsibility for the damage and the commitment to repair the damage has been received. It is now to late in the season to affect a repair. The heavy dump trucks continue to drive over onto the lawn and make three point turns into my driveway. I don't hold out any hope that Wentworth will meet their obligations to repair the damage they continue to cause.

While we loved the look of the initial planting completed in Spring of 2019 it soon became apparent that many of the varieties chosen were not suitable for the space. No plants were replaced that Fall, nor the following Spring of 2020. Multiple supervisors were sent to the site (requiring us to tour them through repeatedly) and all agreed substitutions were required and warrantee would be completed.In June 2021 at the company’s bequest we went to their landscaping grounds to review plants already in stock/in the yard that could be used and yet still no effort was made to complete the warrantee plantings as promised.Spring 2022 and more assurances we would be top of the list, instead deadlines passed, and messages left unanswered.It is now Summer of 2022 and instead of a flourishing garden in its fourth season of growth we are left with half the ground bare and no replies to our most recent inquiries for an update.Disappointing to say the least.Update: the response from the company disingenuously suggests negligence was the issue with the plant viability. This is not the case, twice daily weeding, watering and deadheading was standard for this garden. There is a bare swatch against the south and western border where the plants chosen by the landscape designers were not appropriate for the conditions of the location, not because the plants put in were of poor quality or didn’t get the care required. We simply want these choices rectified with plants suitable for the site conditions so this section of the garden is as lush and thriving as the remainder. Enough excuses, just complete the job.

We had a rather large project to do on our property and Wentworth was a pleasure to work with. I am a very hands on person, they were cooperative, organized, professional with high quality results as I expected. I chose this company for there well deserved reputation for being able to handle it all" and they did not disappoint-from design to plant selection to soft and hard landscaping and including after care and maintenance. We have had the pleasure of working with Wentworth Landscapes for over 6 years now. Our place in Prince Edward County was initially a small cottage that required some waterfront work. One call from me and the ball was rolling. Their team of professionals worked together to create both a functional space , as well as, an oasis of floral beauty. In addition, they coordinated a sprinkler system and repair of our much loved boat house. Nothing was too challenging for them.4 years later we chose to rebuild the cottage and we didn’t think twice. We called Wentworth Landscapes to return a second time for a much larger project. This time it was designing the entire property from front to back, ensuring that our waterfront work fit in with the new designs.This summer has been just a wonderful experience, the transformation is complete and the property is stunning. Wentworth managed the project from start to finish. The level of service and commitment from everyone was so courteous and professional. They now manage our maintenance of the cottage lawns, flower beds, lighting, sprinkler system and even bug prevention.All members of their team should be commended for their attention to detail and service to the customer.Kellie

Wentworth built us a screened in porch with decking and hot tub surrounding the porch. From start to finish, we were impressed with the crew. Always professional, courteous, punctual and highly skilled at their work. The communication was outstanding with regular, onsite meetings and follow-up minutes which gave us the opportunity to discuss issues as they arose. Work was completed on time and within budget. The porch, tub and deck all look great! Wentworth has now designed a landscaping plan to for the rest of our backyard. We look forward to seeing the finished product in the weeks to come!
