A very well, hidden gem, at least to this reviewer, in the Whiteshell area of Manitoba.A friend and I had frequented this area often every summer, but had always went to the same restaurant /lounge at west hawk lake.On this day, however, serendipity Would have that the establishment we frequented was closed on Monday. We looked across the street and saw the night Hawk Café. Deciding that we needed to get something to eat we headed over there and were pleasantly surprised with the ambiance and enthusiasm of the serving staff. We sat out in there, fully covered and enclosed Deck area. The service was wonderful and, as stated, very enthusiastic. These days it’s hard to get serving staff due to Covid, but at the nighthawk they manage to not only have serving staff that were very attentive, but pleasant to deal with. The food was quite good.My friend had both soups that were on Offer. A borsch and a split pea soup.He said both were very good.I, however, went for one of their specialty hotdogs. The spicy version that had banana peppers, jalapeños, a spicy sauce, onions, and cheese. On an open face bun. I also had a Caesar salad with my meal.We shared a pitcher of beer due to the waitresses recommendation that if we were going to have two each it was cheaper to get the pitcher. Nice touch :-)I found their prices to be reasonable. Their service to be wonderful. And their establishment to be clean and well-kept.I will definitely be going there again.

Went here the other evening. They have an app! I ordered via phone but was able to view their menu online. They have ample seating indoors, as well as outdoors. We sat on the boulevard at the picnic tables. Everything is set up with distance in mind, clean and a nice place to eat. There are 2 washrooms. They were clean and stocked.Ample parking with ramp and stairs to get in to the establishment. There is a pick up window from the outside, so you don't need to go in to get your food if you've ordered pick-up.Upon entering, the staff seems to be in their own world and doesn't pay attention to folks standing at the door, or at least that was my experience. Maybe they were just focused on the task at hand but I had 2 staff pass by me and said nothing. Everyone was at least working. An acknowledgement would have been nice. The staff person who took my order over the phone was so helpful. I was able to order off the menu but wanted to know the flavour options for the sundae, she listed many and it helped me make a decision!Food is tasty but portions are on the small side. Their home fries were disappointing. Soggy, greasy, no crisp. I wouldn't return here for fries. Their cats cuts were nice and crispy, and tasty too! The menu had a lot of vegetarian options (seems rare these days)...all burgers can be made with their beyond the meat patty and they had a vegan option for many things too--grilled cheese, sub cheese for hummus! Very impressed to see the variety on their menu. Would be willing to try something else next time. The sundaes were delish and the serving was generous.Parking is ample. Located conveniently to the left upon entering from the highway. Seems like the nicely spot, especially if you want to sit in.I'd go here again and try something different!

When it comes to ice cream, the Night Hawk Restaurant at Westhawk Lake has a lot to offer. While I can't comment on the other food options, I thoroughly enjoyed their ice cream offerings during my recent visit. The atmosphere at Night Hawk is charming, with friendly staff and a cozy ambiance that adds to the overall dining experience. Their ice cream menu was decently varied, boasting a range of classic and unique flavors. As a self-proclaimed ice cream lover, I couldn't resist trying a scoop.Although I was pleased with the flavor, I did notice a slight graininess in the texture, which I suspect may have been caused by a dirty machine. However, this didn't deter me from savoring the delicious taste that was present. The ice cream itself was rich and creamy and served at an ideal temperature. The portion size was generous, ensuring that my sweet tooth was fully satisfied.Despite the minor setback with the texture, the Night Hawk Restaurant's dedication to serving delectable ice cream is evident. I am hopeful that my experience was an isolated incident and that they will address any issues with their equipment for optimum customer satisfaction.I would definitely return to the Night Hawk Restaurant in the future, eager to try their other food options while hoping for an improved ice cream texture. If you're in the Westhawk Lake area and looking for a cozy spot to enjoy some dessert, I recommend giving Night Hawk a try.

Really good food. I highly recommend the blue cheese burger and the apple pie with the touch of ice cream on top! Location and decor/atmosphere was great too! The service was great in general.

Food tasted like burnt cooking oil. Forest fire burger has no heat and was over sauced.Fries were ok.Server was non existent. She took order brought drinks and then bill. No chance to tell them about the food. When bill came and we told her she didn’t say anything.Worst experience at a place that typically does much better. Very disappointing

Sooo busy in the summer but so worth it to visit. They have a beautiful screened in patio that we passed by which we’ll have to check out next time when we’re in the area. Our go to place for soft serve and other treats when visiting Whiteshell!

We had lunch at Nite Hawk Cafe and the food was so flavourful that we went back the same day for supper! I ordered the Buffalo Blue Chicken Burg and Goat Cheese Burg—each had a generous amount of cheese. They were out of roasted red pepper for the latter so I took our server's suggestion and substituted jalapeños - yum. The house cut fries are a must-try (with vinegar), and the dill dip was very tasty with the Classic Cactus Cuts. Service was friendly and prompt despite the bustling restaurant. The screened patio was also lovely.

Great food! Patio was fantastic - screened in with great ambiance. Has a coffee bar to serve yourself for coffee refills. Great food portions, and quality ingredients. The clubhouse was gigantic.

We got the Canada Day weekend special Maple Bacon Burger ($20.50), Cod Fish and Chips ($19.00), and the riblets ($10). The servers were friendly and mostly helpful but neglected to ask if we wanted drink or water refills. On a hot day it was a minor issue. The Buger was exceptional while the Fish and Chips were average though that was expected. The riblets though were disappointing. They were fatty and tough, making them difficult to eat. For the prices it is an average experience especially when it is $4 for a drink they forget to provide refills for (as an example).
