Such a hidden gem, its hard to find with google maps as google (at least on my phone) could not find it on the road map, not being from the area i searched for fishing areas and im glad i went. There's a local ranch near the lake with a walking trail that goes to the lake as well as the alberta sports hall of fame & museum" parking lot is connected Google those and take the walking path to the lake

Mitchell pond is a great little gem nestled in below Heritage Ranch. If you take the walking path from the ranch it takes you down a lush trend to the pond. There is also a gathering place for groups, a few fire pits an numerous tables on the pond grounds. The pond is also stocked for fishing.

A hidden gem in Red Deer. Spend two hours fishing here and it was a lot of fun. At first i started with Troutbait, but they didn't seem to care for it. Then switched to worms and that's when the magic happened and i caught 5 rainbows.Just use a little floater with 1.5ft of 2lb leader and a small hook. A little piece of worm and make sure the fish cannot see the end of the hook (the sharp bit). Enjoy!
