Fantastic bike but needs slight refining.I have been looking for an all mountain/enduro bike for the longest time. Luckily I stumbled across Staran at a bike expo in Toronto and their bike immediately caught my attention (green's my favorite color). It had everything I was looking for! Great brakes, wheels, and XT components. I was slightly skeptical of the length of travel (140MM, was looking for longer travel) but after riding it at the DVP and Bluemountain, I had made the right choice.My only issue is with the rear shock. At the start of the travel, it is fairly stiff (not a lot of small bump compliance) and then at the mid stroke it becomes slightly softer than it should. This makes it hard to adjust because if you add in too much air, your small bump compliance is gone and too little, you end up having a squishy ride. I have been looking into replacing the rear shock.Aside from that, Staran provides an excellent bike and excellent customer service. I was able to request the green RaceFace Atlas pedals (green is an awesome color) even though they technically don't have them.The team at Staran are very friendly, I HIGHLY recommend you request a test ride, you'll love it.P.S I also had the same issue with Shawn Koslowski. The rear tire had a rip between the wire bead and the sidewall...Didn't know it was defective and got a new tire (Schwallbe Razor rock, highly recommend !)

From the time of the first inquiry to actually testing the bike on two different local trails and then scheduling a date to build the bike, these guys have been nothing but accommodating. I'm fortunate enough to live in the area of Staran Cycles and being able to build the rig with one of the owners is nothing short of Awesome.The bike itself is AWESOME! I have enjoyed tweaking the bike to my riding needs. There is no break in period and its handling is like an extension of my body. It has handled everything I can throw at it and comes out shining every time. All my riding buds love the look and quality of my new rig. One guy rode it and instantly felt comfortable on it. I can't say enough about it.There was a small issue with the rear tire bead ripping and the tire was deemed defective and was replaced immediately.Thank you for the Great Build.

I took a chance on Staran cycles and was one of the first to buy this awesome bike. After years on a Cannondale F600 Hardtail, moving to this beauty squish mitten was the best bike purchase decision I could have made. Great value for the level of components and quality of the frame, and the customer service is outstanding. Luckily their shop is local for me, so any servicing is quick and easy. There were issues with the original tire beads, but they have fixed that and have moved to better tires. Jeff and Tyler and very knowledgeable, friendly and have even joined my buddies and I for a couple local rides. The company may be only 1 year old, but they definitely have experience and know their stuff! If you are in the market for a new ride, I definitely recommend them. From the moment we met Jeff at the Toronto Bicycle Show to the moment I wheeled my new Staran bike to my car, I was nothing but impressed. The worst part of the experience was the snow that continues to keep falling, preventing me from hopping on my new bike!! The customized approach to the bicycle build was excellent, with Jeff and his colleagues providing the warmest and most informative purchase ever. I am fairly new to mountain biking, and as such, the purchase of a new bike was daunting. I was never made to feel inferior... rather, they fit me with the best of the best. Thank you to the gentlemen at Staran Cycles... and their terrific bike! :)
