I was very pleased with the work done by Chris and his team. They just finished a 6 day tear down and rebuild of my deck - met timeline expectations, ensured the site was clean and safe at the end of each day and they were very professional. As issues came up they were very competent and resourceful to resolve them quickly, ensured code requirements were met and paid particular close attention to the finishing details.I love our new deck!!

After dealing with an unprofessional contractor who skipped out halfway through the job, working with Chris was a breath of fresh air. His team fixed all of the mistakes of our previous contractor and renovated our entire main floor. They were always on time and completed the job on schedule. Throughout the renovation they were there to provide design advice and offer suggestions whenever we had to make a big decision. They even went back and did extra work to modify things that we had changed our mind on. Overall I would refer this team for any renovation job big or small. I have referred Chris to my friends and family and will continue to do so in the future.

Sawdust and Stone recently built my backyard fence this summer 2020 and overall it was a very positive experience. It was simple and stress free in regards to getting a quote, billing, answering my questions related to the process, etc. I was impressed with the craftsmanship of my fence and the turn around time of completion was much quicker than I anticipated. My fence is not only sturdy but also quite attractive. Sawdust And Stone is quite popular in my neighbourhood due to their quality of work and service. I highly recommend this company and plan to continue to be a customer moving forward. My family is so pleased and thankful.

First off I would like to say that the quality of the work was pretty good, there are minor nits that I have over the work and most of them I think should be covered under the 4 year warranty that was given to me. However, based on the poor communication that I've had with Chris after the final payment was given to him, I don't believe he would ever come out and do any repairs. The biggest issue I had is that he took an educated guess on the stairs he put in for my stone patio and when we discussed it, discussed that it's not what I wanted, he told me to sit on it for a week or 2 and if I still don't like it, he would fix the mistake he made. I contacted him to replace the stairs about a week later and now he wanted to charge me for the stair replacement. I thought about and said told him I cannot afford to spend more and was going to leave things as is but when I tried to have a friendly conversation to inquire as to whether or not it's normal for him to pick stairs for his customers, he ignored me. Wouldn't even have a conversation with me. I just thought that after spending 16k on the projects I hired him to do, he would at least have a conversation with me. I thought about this review, thought that maybe I'm burning my bridge in terms of any warranty issues that arise but I don't believe in this warranty after our interaction and I have had enough stress over this. I thought it would be better to provide a service to the community by sharing my experience so that people can be informed when they choose their contractor.Edit: Looks like Chris has responded with an untruthful answer but instead of doing a back and forth until we are blue in the face, I will only leave everyone with only 1 important note. DO NOT give Chris your final payment for the job if you are not 100% satisfied with his work, he might try and sweet talk you into thinking that he stands by his work but he does not based on my experience.

Chris did an amazing job in our family room. The built-ins, fireplace install, and Shiplap completely transformed the room. His attention to detail, suggestions and flexibility with our design, and hard work are the reasons we would recommend him for your next indoor or outdoor project.

We had a great experience working with Chris and his team for our deck project. Superior level of craftsmanship and very accommodating/resposive to all of our questions. Highly recommended!

We are thrilled with how our backyard has turned out! Chris did an amazing job creating a beautiful 2nd story deck with stairs. His attention to detail with our fence makes it stand out compared to your typical fence. The stone work below our deck has transformed the area. Chris is meticulous, professional, and highly skilled.

Chris and his team exceeded our expectations. Their attention to the design and detail of our backyard was exceptional. We can not say enough good things about Chris and his team. Chris worked with the ever changing needs of our design and was always happy to make suggestions on how to execute the vision we had for our backyard oasis. We are exited to have their team back in the spring to do more work on our forever home.

I usually only write reviews for companies I actually purchased a product or service from but my frustration with Sawdust and Stone warrants this. After arranging a date and time to come quote on a project, I was left waiting at the house with Sawdust and Stone being a no show. I called and emailed with no response. It's been 12 days since this happened and not a peep. I get that things happen, mistakes are made - but the ghosting, not cool and definitely not professional.
