Saginaw Public School

I went to this school in 3rd grade and immediately transferred out when I was moving into 4th grade. Obviously there would be positive improvements towards the school since then but the problems I went through here have really hurt my academic self esteem. I'm in a freshman in high school now but this moment still hurts my trust in teachers.Being the new kid was a lot harder than I thought, I was constantly excluded from my classmates and people were only nice to me when they wanted something from me. I was never checked up on by any adults privately.Since I had no friends to pair up with for partnered activities, I didn't have anyone to ask for my French teacher's assignment. I forgot her name because it's been so long but I remember she has a distinct birthmark under of of her ears. Having her as my teacher made me miserable, I went home upset and it was to the point my family thought I was being bullied because I didn't eat anymore, I was losing weight, I wasn't sleeping, and I stayed home sick" so often. But it was just my French teacher.I was making a paper doll out of tissues to cope with my emotions

You realize just what an amazing school this is when they change schools for grade 7. Teachers are amazing and really care at this school. It is a healthy environment and really well maintained.

Honestly man, I have really fond memories of this place. I was a student there. I graduated from this school and moved to Doon Public over in Kitchener, and it never beat Saginaw. In fact, even in my senior year of high school, I'm yet to see a school beat Saginaw in pure design perfection. Design, playground, teachers.. The whole vibe this place gave off was so safe and welcoming.I still remember the entire layout of the school all these years later. The field in the back especially. The playgrounds are designed in such a way that allow us to play a variety of different games. It's sort of split in 3 different sections: The east tarmac, west tarmac, and south-east tarmac. These different tarmacs are separated by the schools walls and allow for excellent cover for games like man-hunt. The field itself has a path that goes all the way around allowing hunting games to continue even on rainy days. It has a large baseball diamond to hide behind and a nice little spot behind the day-care's stairs, although the teachers don't really want you back there. But we always went back there anyways. I remember winter used to change things completely; the whole tarmac is sort of inlaid into the surrounding terrain so there are slopes around the back of the school. Not big ones, just large enough to be good for building snow slides on, oh and I don't think they like you doing that either.. but it was fun!All these years later, I still have dreams about this place. The friends I met there. They come to me in dreams all the time. I have such a strong emotional connection to this place that seeing kids line up on the school next to mine brings back a lot of nostalgia. Nostalgia... that's really all I can say to describe my experience there. I had Mr. Roberts as my Grade 6 teacher in 2016. Maybe ask him if he remembers a kid named Benjamin Sandhu?Back when I was there, kids weren't into phones and especially social media, as Facebook was pretty much the only thing available. Things have changed drastically since then. But I urge you to check this school out nonetheless. I had a great 4 years there!Also, a side note: People seem to hate the French teacher. I don't even remember the French teacher, which is probably a good thing. I think they must've changed French teachers after I left which is why people are writing bad reviews. I wouldn't know, but she sounds bad. If anything it sounds like she needs to be fired if she hasn't already.

Worked here as a THR in the office. Staff and students were amazing.
