Brazeau Reservoir Provincial Recreation Area - Main Group Campground

The caretaker was inconsistent (agreed to let us stay an extra night and then told us we could not on the last day), unreasonable (told us we could have extra time to pack up and then showed up to push us off site) and then got rude when we started to provide feedback on how the situation could have been avoided.

Steve needs a new job.

This could be a lovely campground or day use spot if they added some walking or hiking trails. If you have dogs, you might be disappointed (as I was) with the lack of places to walk them and dog amenities like bag dispensers or water taps. So. not dog friendly at all. But if are looking for a nice picnic destination on your motorbike, you’ll love the scenic vista. There is a small beach for the kids, and a boat launch that’s easy to back up to.

This campground cancels bookings without telling you.The campground manager Steve, is extremely difficult.Do not camp or book here until the manager is removed.

First trip out this year! We had a great time! It's beautiful and quite an interesting place. We were in the non serviced site and can confirm that all sites are very treed which gives you the much desired privacy from your neighbors. And clean! The park is kept wonderfully clean (I've seriously never seen a cleaner outhouse that actually smelled good?? What??). Fishing is great too! We also noticed each site was provided with a fresh stump to chop your wood. Nice touch!Other reviews noted not dog friendly. We completely disagree!! Although there may not be bag dispenser or water taps, if you go prepared by bringing you own things to keep your pup happy, he/she will have a blast as there is lots of open space for them to do what dogs do. Run and play!!Highly recommend checking this place out! We'll definitely be back!The only downside is there is no sani dump station at the campground. However, there is one close by in Drayton Valley.

We have had a group event there every year for the past 12 years.Last year we had a very bad experience with Steve the Manager harrassing us and showing up at the campsite on multiple occasions being aggressive, wandering around between our trailers when we weren't there, and unplugging our campers.This year, booked our site as usual and he canceled it and made it so we couldn't rebook it.Very unfortunate, as these events are for charity purposes. Hoping to be able to try again next year, but will be doubtful if Steve is still managing.

Went there once, however a belligerent man emerged from one of the small buildings claiming it was private property. This was back in 2017 - so I don't know if the status of this land has changed. Although even at that time all of the signs said was a provincial recreation area"

Steve was very difficult at last years 2020 Central Alberta River Boat Association ( CARBA) rally and showed his lack of class in cancelling the 2021 jet boat rally reservation at the last moment. Then to really screw us over he blocked out the weekend reservation system so the organizers could not re-book the event.This is a non profit event that has supported many charities over the years through this very event at this location. This third party miss management of Alberta's Parks space is very poor and Steve should be accountable with a formal public apology made to the CARBA organizers.

Can someone fire steve

We stayed at C7. Had a lovely site that was 60 feet long and very much like a parking lot with no privacy. However, you were far enough apart and faced the water. Lovely spot, very clean and staff were wonderful. I highly recommended and will be back again.The water is wonderful for swimming.
