- Hainanese Chicken Rice: Rice wasn't very fragrant with the chicken fat, but there was some salty sauce on the bottom. The bok choy and broccoli are decent, but the chicken was a little dry. The ginger onion dip was on the salty side.-Char Kuey Teow: Lots of wok hei and fragrance, with bean sprouts, two types of noodles and some chicharron for added texture.-Nasi Lemak: comes with rice cooked with coconut, sambal was spicy, salty, chili fragrant. Chicken was sometimes tough on the outside and dry. Eggs were nice, and the fried anchovies and peanuts were a good addition.Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts!

(CASH ONLY)Cool spot! Actually directly inside Dragon City Mall.Great, decently priced Hong Kong eats. Not as greasy as the photos look, so the little extra price over other spots is worth it.Each of us tried 1 thing at random and each one was good for the price!I'd say check this out.

I ordered the Nasi Lemak and an iced Hong Kong Milk Tea. The food tasted good, chicken was a bit small and it was much spicier than I expected (and I eat spicy). I gave 2 stars because of the terrible service. The place is cash only and the lady there forces the customer to tip a set amount. My total after tax was $17. I gave $20 and she gave back $3 and she said that the tip is $2 and took it away from the change. I found it very rude and will not be recommending this place.

Went here and got their nasi lemak. Tasted very good - more on the spicy side. Will be coming back to try their other menu!

As a Singaporean, I was recommended to try the Malaysian food at this “cash-only” eatery from the “secret menu” by many other fellow Singaporeans/Malaysians.The Nasi Lemak set comes with 2 halves of a hard boiled egg, chicken sambal, cucumbers and ikan bilis with peanuts, along with a choice of drink. This was probably the best Nasi Lemak in Canada with its spicy sambal, probably even better than many of the average Nasi Lemak back in my hometown. The char kway teow was done well with its wok hei and decent portion of shrimps provided, yet it wasn’t oily with the noodles not sticking together, a common issue with the kway teow equivalent noodles that we find here. The total bill for Nasi lemak set with the char kway teow came to just under $30, which fed 2 people easily, a very reasonable price with today’s inflation, especially for a cuisine that is very sparse in North America.I will definitely return again for the Nasi Lemak, although it would have been great if they offered a pescatarian alternative for the chicken sambal just like the norm back at home but I understand the constraints of serving a relatively rare cuisine in a restaurant setting. I also look forward to trying their other dishes from the “secret menu” such as the Ikan bakar and the sambal petai.

Best Nasi lemak in down town toronto. Brought me back to hawker culture in singapore and Malaysia. This shop situated in the china town mall is a hidden gem for the people who love Singaporean and Malaysian food. The service is great and the portion size is faily reasonable for the price as well.Nasi lemak was the best item. Chicken was slightly old but the sambal made everything better. I tried the spicy option and it was almost at the authentic level. Nasi lemak had everything whixh made the malays proud. The small fish were also offered. The food was served on a banana leaf. Be aware of the spicy levels. The hainanese chicken rice was tasty as well. It reminded me of penang. The white chicken with rice cooked with chicken oil was amazing.Singaporean rice noodles was amazing as well. Generous amount of meat was added as well. The soup and the drinks were great.

Very good nasi lemak! I'm always skeptical of HK style cafes trying to include Southeast Asian food but this place actually tastes quite authentic. Will definitely come back to try their other foods.

Came here because we miss southeast asian food and they didn’t disappoint! We ordered the hainanese chicken rice, nasi lemak, kwetiaw noodles, and some wings. They’re all honestly great, even the HK Milk tea tasted fresh. The condiments are also great. For the price and value it’s reasonable. Great service and overall clean space as well :) will come back!

Tucked away, this resturant has a high turn over rate as customers come for the cheap eats. The waitress spoke Chinese and warned us about the spice level, missing Nasi Lamek, I was beyond excited. The meal was fragrant and had strong flavours but not traditional as the chicken was drenched in sauce and coconut rice was lacking. Flavoursome, but not the nostalgic throw back I wanted.

Doesn’t solve my craving for good hainanese chicken but the nasi lemak seems pretty true to authentic if you like spicy food.
