Play with Clay & “the Clay Bar”

This is an absolutely fantastic place! The owners & staff assisted me with setting up the perfect proposal to my girlfriend, setup a special table, and even gave us a bottle of champagne! Honestly great people and I cannot thank them enough! The food was delicious, I really enjoyed the fully loaded nachos. And the clay and artistic projects that you can do are a ton of fun!

Attended a birthday party at Play with Clay over the weekend, what a great experience! Mario and his team are so welcoming, and go above and beyond to give the kids a great time. He also showed us the back area with the licensed bar, and we can't wait to bring some friends back for an evening there as well! Overall, fantastic place and looking forward to returning.

I had a Great experience doing pottery And painting. It's a good place for adults and kids to hang out and make crafts! The staff are very patient and will guide you through any process. You can make your own pottery out of clay or have a pre-made one. Absolutely recommend!

I visited a couple of times to paint and enjoy the Clay Bar before taking one of their classes. Both times the service was friendly and we LOVED that they didn't have a time limit so you could keep ordering snacks and really make an evening out of it, especially with the fun music on. Great atmosphere!I have now taken a 7-week long class here twice and both times I got SO much out of it! It's a really lovely way to have a creative space, enjoy some beverages and snacks and meet new people. Each time the class size was 8 or less, so you really got a sense of who everyone was. It's a nice way to experience both hand-building and on the wheel. I never felt rushed, and Nina brings good laughs to her instruction.Can't recommend this enough if you're looking for a clay experience in Guelph!

Me and my two friends went to paint. As we bought our stuff the new employee forgot to add taxes to my two friends items.They went to sit down, the experience employee went to check up on her then realized she forgot the taxes I still haven't payed and waiting to pay. The experience employee took very long to realize the mistake and explained it to the new girl but I was standing their for 10 minutes then they went over to my friends and made them pay the taxes for their items which I think was unfair it was there mistake my friends had already payed.the new employee was nice though I didn't appreciate standing there for ten minutes. Waiting to pay when the experience employee could have let me pay and I could get sit down with my friends and then she could have told the new employee how to do things.

Great atmosphere, lots of variety in painting options, and I love the clay bar area now. Staff are always friendly. Food/drinks are overpriced for what they are as the only criticism.

I signed my wife up for classes as a gift. She was so excited to try pottery classes and learn a new skill. She had been to Play With Clay before and enjoyed it so she was expecting to make some cool pieces.However this is not the experience she got and I’m pretty disappointed in how the classes were structured. My wife would receive very brief instructions and was often left to figure things out on her own, or just YouTube them. The instructor was not strictly dedicated to helping those in the course, making it difficult to ask questions. The instructor had gone home halfway through class and did not show up for the last three classes. It was extremely frustrating to hear my wife have so many questions left unanswered and potentially impact the quality of her pottery. We felt very mislead by this because the website said these courses would have “instructors guide you through the whole process with individual instruction”. Even though it was a seven week course, she did not feel her skills improved much once she finished.This really defeated the purpose of signing up and felt like a waste of time and money. If you are looking to do more than just the one day class I would look elsewhere.

Absolutely lovely decor, with a cosy interior. Perfect for a date night, an outing with friends, or a relaxing solo session to reconnect with your creative side, or even to develop one. Staff were incredibly helpful and overall very pleasant to be around. Layout and instructions were straightforward, and despite not being a pro-potter, I was able to start creating with ease. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will definitely be returning.

The clay bar was fantastic I had a blast and the food was amazing. They have really good nachos. The pieces are on the bottom. You can paint and stay until you're done. That was our girls night out at the clay bar.Play with clay. Was fantastic. My son had a blast and they had painting for kids. He had such an amazing time.Friendly staff.

If we could give more than 5 stars, we would! We had a great experience. Staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. A fun and relaxed atmosphere that is great for families. Can't wait to go back and finish our projects.
