This restaurant is locates at one of the senior building so target market is for senior people. Taste is very flat (no much salt…I don’t like salty food but this is way below my standard) but I can feel some msg after the meal.

CHESTNUTS in a “NUT-FREE” dish and bad attitude from server!With much regret, I will no longer be eating at this restaurant. I’ve been a regular for more than a year but after tonight’s special family dinner, I will not be going here and I will warn friends who have food allergies. We visited a few days ago in person to order a special dinner for a family reunion. I specified that it should be NUT FREE as my son is very allergic to all nuts. I even asked the head waitress if the glutinous stuffed chicken had nuts. She said no nuts. She was wrong. The dish contained chopped chestnuts. When I bit down on the chestnut and realized what it was, I called a server over to ask. She INSISTED that the item was mushroom. I dug out bits of chestnut from the rice stuffing. The server just said “Oh” and walked away. She avoided our table after that. I called the head waitress over and complained. She gave us a weak apology, as if I was just being picky about my food.Hey, Oriental Gourmet: NUT ALLERGIES CAN KILL. Take it seriously.

Very nice Chiu-chou style Chinese restaurant hidden in a Vintage Garden Senior residential complex. Dishes are authentic and taste good. Portion and price are decent.

The service here was not the best. The food came out very slow although it wasnt too busy. But the food itself was fresh and not too salty. Spent around $50 per person

鹹菜胡椒豬肚湯 is perfect on a cold day. Warms the body despite how cold it is outside.$128 set meal is very good. Fast service, and attentive waiters replacing our plates frequently.海帶綠豆沙 desert is excellent. Not too sweat, full of ingredients. First time 海帶 included in this desert which complemented the overall flavour. Will definitely come back again!

Unassuming restaurant in a senior apartment complex with good Chiu Chow food at reasonable prices. We had a reservation and ordered one of their lunch sets. Food came out super quickly. The set was supposed to come with smoked duck but they were out, so we replaced it with a steamed chicken dish which was delicious. Dry fried string beans were great as well. The fish ball noodle soup was decent but a little bland. We also ordered the pan fried Chinese leek dumpling which we were less impressed by - the dumpling skin was too thick and it needed more filling.Service was friendly although that might’ve been because someone in our group knew the staff. Cash only.

This Chiu Chow restaurant is located in the Vintage Garden seniors' residential complex and is technically labeled as the Vintage Garden Dining Room" on the ground floor of an apartment building (it's almost like a large party room inside a condo). As other reviewers have pointed out

It's a small restaurant at the bottom of the senior residence building. There are at least 2 signs pointing out where the door/entrance to the restaurant is.It is recommended that you reserve a table. For dinner reservations, there are two times: 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm. There's a 2 hour limit. They only accept cash, so remember to bring cash. We went on a Saturday evening for 5:30. There was a line up by the time that we left at the end of our 2 hours.We ordered 8 dishes and an extra not on the menu dish number 9. 2 noodle dishes (egg noodle and brown flat noodle), 2 vegetable dishes (mushroom bok choy and chinese broccoli with extremely salty small bits of fish), 2 sweet and sour pork dishes, and 1 fish and tofu dish. We also got the red bean, taro(?), small clear tapioca pearls sweet soup dessert. The extra dish that we ordered was a chow mein.All the food was enough quantity. The quality was pretty good. The prices were cheaper than expected. The chow mein was $15 for all that food. The flavors were light, not too salty, not too oily. I assume the food is cooked like this because the seniors from the floors above would come down and eat there and with their families.Would come back here again. Everything was pretty good. We came here as a big family. Felt like this restaurant was like a hidden gem. There really is a Chinese restaurant here, it just hard to see where the entrance is- you can miss the entrance, it's just one small door on the outside of the building.We spent about $100 something here.

We went on Friday around 7pm and the place was full, we made a reservation and were seated quickly. We had 9 people so we ordered a set dinner for 10 people. The signature pepper pig stomach soup" was great

Love this place. Took my family here for the first time. Have been here twice during Chinese new year where they had a set meal and on a non holiday to try their regular dishes. Food is truly exceptional for the value, inexpensive, flavorful, and great portions. True essence of Chinese chui Chow style. The staff were very friendly, extremely hard working and attentive to your dining experience. For dessert, the taro mash is always a favorite. Rich, creamy and thick Taro. For savory when platter is a unique choice but I prefer the satay beef noodle.
