Food was expensive for the portion size. We had the chowder and lobster roll. They were both alright, nothing to rave about. The chowder was full of potatoes, rather than seafood, and the lobster roll wasn't very saucy.

From the beginning, the staff did not encourage you to come in. The restaurant has a large patio that cannot be entered with a small dog. That is a big minus, especially since the place has excellent conditions for it. We were hungry after a day of sightseeing so we decided to stay and the dog was waiting for us in the field outside the patio. We ordered lobster dinner and lobster poutine. The poutine was OK but the lobster was awful, stale and probably prepared earlier, because we got the ordered dishes faster than in McDonald. Overall we had not a good experience, so we do not recommend this place.

We tried their seafood chowder and fish and chips. Seafood chowder was just ok. They made it in seafood broth so it’s not creamy like other places. I personally found only potatoes in there with very less seafood. On the other hand their fish and chips were super delicious. They serve us a big piece of fish that two people can easily share. Their customer service was up to the mark even at busy hours.

Delicious food, but portions don't match the prices. Since I've started my trip through the Cabot Trail, the lobster roll at the Rusty Anchor has been the best I've had, but it was just not enough to leave me feeling satisfied, and the price was a bit steep. Delicious nonetheless. Rusty's burger was also a huge hit.Food was delivered quickly and with a smile, no mistakes on the orders. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

This was the only place around that was open in the area. In fairness we don't eat lobster - and that's the house specialty. But the menu on line showed lots of other fish dishes and none were available - only fish n chips. There was some interesting blueberry lemonade. But hardly any one in the restaurant and it took forever to get the food. Fish n chips was okay but nothing special.

We came here hungry after hiking all day and were greeted with friendly smiles, good conversation, and great food! The sauce with the mussels was by far the best I've ever tried, and the mussels were HUGE! The fish in the fish and chips was really good as well. We would return here in a heartbeat!

What a great place to have dinner and take in the view. We were first greeted by a very warm welcome “waiting for us to arrive”. My wife was excited to try the oysters and crab legs and was not disappointed. I stayed simple with deep fried fish, and it also was very good. Finally finished with a visit to the front lobby where a local young lady displays her art and we were fortunate enough to purchase a very nice piece for my wife’s 40th birthday. If touring Cape Breton, I recommend a stop in to this fine place!

Service was great, burger was great.Gravy and cheese are very expensive.I ordered a burger for $18.99, then upgraded the fries to poutine for $25.88, so the gravy and cheese cost $6.99.okay, the burger was pretty good and I definitely recommend that, fries was good too, but $6.99 for that little bit of gravy and very little cheese which pretty confuses me and I don't think it's worth it, as you can see by the picture, all I can say is that gravy and cheese are nothing special at all.

Fair place to eat. The service was good. The decor is local. I had a salad, but the dressing was not homemade, tasted and looked like processed food sauce, which I never buy! Very sad. I had a seafood chowder. It was somewhat good, but I hardly saw a oiece of shrimp and fish. No lobster like their statue outside presents. I did not take the lobster because it was 45$. The mussels are good and affordable as well as the burger. Stop by accordingly.

Liked, but not love. I think they get too busy, and so you have to order before you sit down, and pay and get a number like a fast food place... didn't really like that process. The food was pretty good.
