Children's Aid Society Of Hamilton

This organization is a waste of time. Only in it for the mother and does not care about the father. My daughter at 5 months old was being spanked by her mother and they would not do a thing and closed the case without my knowledge. The 2 ladies that dealt with my case Nicole Hunt and Hillary Edward did not do their job and should look for new ones!

Irresponsible, poorly trained workers. Willing to tell lies, act unprofessionally and divisively to further their own agenda. They need an oversight body to address corruption ASAP.Edit: couldn't even properly or fully read the police report to see who the actual problem was and was trying to frame the parent that was keeping them safe as the problem, which would have endangered the child's wellbeing instead of helping him. CAS is corrupt, irresponsible, and needs to be shut down or restructured. They have no business having as much power as they do and their workers should ashamed of themselves for the disgusting tactics they use to get their own way and push their own agenda.

When a child repeately says they don't want to visit with their parent thats been abusive, CAS needs to listen, especially when the child is 10. No means no, so why are you continuing to harm the child, they keep saying no, but, you keep saying, well you have too..I thought you were suppose to protect the welfare of the child..DO YOUR JOB AND LISTEN TO THE CHILD AS THEY SPEAK ONLY THE TRUTH...

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who had the most amazing worker. To me CAS was God's intervention as I feel I'd be dead or still strung out. I know there are horror stories about workers but the worker I had went above and beyond what her job" was. I'm so sorry to all who haven't had good experiences. The thing is that YOU are responsible for your actions. It's a long hard road to achieve the life you want but put the work in and you will get through this. I know from a long life of addictions. Been clean 10 yrs thanks to CAS."

I own a rental home i stopped by there one day witnessing the disgusting filth that the mother was forcing the children to live in. A worker from childrens aid stopped by to check on them and did nothing. There was garbage everywhere they had 8 people living in a 2 bedroom tiny house. There was feces and dirty diapers on the floor it was just disgusting and i do not know how the children were not taken away from this disgusting parent. The mother even had a lock on the outside of the childrens room. The kids were knocking on neighbors houses begging for food. I have followed up with childrens aid as there are other issues too disgusting to mention. If anything happens to these kids i am holding childrens aid responsible no child should have to live like this the mother is horrible and i feel so bad for the children.

I had the worse experience with CAS In Hamilton. I found with my situation the social worker was not educated enough, lied about what my children said to the CAS worker, they called me to tell me what my child said in their assessment that was concerning than tried to say they never said that, missed all the RED flags. I ended up speaking with the manager and the social worker who was working on my case for my children, they made excuses after excuses as to why this was done and why this was said. I found that CAS Hamilton was VERY unprofessional and they need to take their cases more seriously and see the red flags. Also I feel as though maybe the staff should take courses after so many months to allow them to see what’s truly going on, the red flags and be more knowledgeable in order to help the children. I was very unsatisfied and to be honest if they aren’t going to see the red flags and the concerns than it doesn’t make me feel comfortable calling them to report anything… which is absolutely sad something has to change

This agency is horrendous. Their Facebook posts about wearing purple for the children and families are just hypocritical, carefully scripted messages to promote an ethos that doesn't exist. CAS Hamilton is spending thousands of publicly-funded dollars on a legal team to avoid having to provide the protection and supports promised to these children through care-givers. Bryan Shone and his Board of Directors place children in Kin Service - even when they actually aren't Kin. The term Kinship" is stretched and manipulated as a means of saving the agency from the cost of support

I can’t believe a case will be closed on my daughter boyfriend with proof of abuse like how this protection this why parents or kids end up in a bad situation you guys need to be more serious on your jobs

Very un reliable when it comes to their word. I'm having a hard time trusting

Friendly staff, and considerate towards needs and helping individuals that are cooperative.
