Asian Grocery Store Golden Flower

This little shop makes me feel nostalgic for the days I lived in South Korea! It is packed with authentic groceries, key sauces and spices, ingredients and snacks. If you can't find something, ask the staff, 9 times out of 10, they have it. Multiple varieties of kimchi here!

Great selection of East Asian and even some African food, glad this store exists. Would give it 5 stars if the prices were a bit more reasonable.

This is the best place to find the Asia taste: jack fruit, balut, and lots of spices with vegetable or product from for Asia meal. The owners are very friendly and you may order what you need.Love this place.

Great variety of Asian foods you can't find anywhere else in town. They have ordered things in for me when I've requested before as well. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff with a wide variety of East Asian and South Asian groceries that you cannot find anywhere else in Thunder Bay. Highly recommend visiting if you are diverse in cuisine and culinary knowledge.

It's great place for oriental foods. There are many fresh herbs which we couldn't find in big stores. The lady owner is super friendly. She can help to order new products.

If most great businesses in Thunder Bay have had some humble beginnings, Golden Flower Asian Grocery is certainly on the way to greatness. Whether seeking Japanese, Korean Chinese, Thai, or Vietnamese specialty foods, this small store has a surprising variety of products not available anywhere else in the city. As a small store, they have to price on the high side so I wouldn't buy soy sauce there; but pickled mustard greens, fish sauce (3 Crab brand!), chili oil, Korean pepper flakes, tamarind, miso, mirin... Need I go on?Also on offer are a variety of East Asian snack foods, frozen foods (I have yet to ask what's in the chest freezers), and fresh specialty produce. The staff is friendly, helpful and happy to consider special orders. Don't be afraid to ask, the shelves are quite busy. Definitely a local treasure!
