We have been buying prawns, fresh fish and fish and chips from the Crab Shop for at least 20 years.Recently ,the quality of the fish and chips has been iffy and and today it was terrible. There was more breading than cod and the cod was actually dry. It appeared to have been seared and then deep fried. My partner insisted it was frozen and previously breaded. We also ordered the 10 Prawn meal and received only 9 with dipping sauce that tasted like tarter sauce mixed with Ketchup. So sorry for the complaints but we are wondering if there is a change of ownership or cooks? We won't be able to tolerate another bad experience. A loyal customer.

A great place for early lunch. I had the crab sandwich, the chowder and fried oysters, fish and chips with cod. Everything was super fresh! The chowder and the oysters were the rockstars of the lunch. Very friendly service, fast, super polite and proactive.

It's a seafood shop that also serves some simple seafood soup and sandwiches.We ordered Crab sandwich, halibut cake sandwich, calamari and clam chowder. The seafood was all decently fresh. We waited about 15/20min for our food. Mediocre counter service. Girls are not that efficient and not approachable.Crab sandwich - light, lackedflavour we found shells in the sandwich a few times.Halibut cake sandwich - a bit more flavour than the Crab sandwich however it needed some texture. It's a mushy sandwich. Not my thing.Calamari - 7 large pieces for $12 or $14 i think. Although portion was small, it was the best thing we had. Flavourful, crispy batter and tender calamari. Made me think I should have ordered the fish and chips.Clam chowder - barely any clams but the flavour was good.No dine in allowed when I went... had to eat in the parking lot.

Loved everything they were busy. Staff were very helpful and patient. The problem is there is no where to sit and eat here. Pre Covid you could dine in. Definitely take out or be prepared to eat in your car.

Where's the fish? SERIOUSLYWhat happened to the fish in your fish and chips?The amount of fish in your deep fried cod is just thick enough to be legally called fish and not a deep fried donought. And waiting 45 minutes outside for an order is ridiculous.Never ever going back

I don't know what happened! This place used to be 5/5. Perfectly cooked, light batter, generous portions and perfectly cooked fries. Came back for the first time in 2023 and man, what a change! Not only were the pieces smaller, the batter was caked on, and the fish was over cooked and chewy, and the fries seemed recooked! They also changed their tartar sauce!!! So disappointing.

After reading rave reviews of this not so hidden gem, we expected to have to wait in line on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Fortunately there was no line and our fish and chip orders arrived piping hot. We enjoyed the freshest cod ever and luckily the limited bench seating area was free.This was our first visit to the Crab Shop but definitely not the last!

We had the halibut fish n chips and clam chowder. Purchased the frozen crab and shrimp cakes for home. They were both good, we waited for 15 mins. I would suggest order ahead of time if you’re in a rush. A full service seafood store. No dine in take out only.
