Rachelle was a lifeline for me during my separation. She was supportive, empathetic and full of professional knowledge and guidance. Thanks to her and her efficient staff I am on the other side with a separation agreement in place and able to move on with my life. I highly recommend Rachelle and her services for any personal legal matters.

I had lawyer assisted mediation with Rachelle as mediator during the second year of my high conflict divorce which involved a combination of cluster B personality disorder, involvement of CAS, the criminal courts and OCL.Cluster B is quite common in high conflict divorces and was disclosed in both parties documents submitted in advance of mediation. Information about it is plentiful for lawyers, mediators and legal personnel (such as articles and books from the American Bar Association, Bill Eddy, Justice Brownstone, ..) thus I expected mediation to take it into consideration and proceed based on the recommended best practices. Instead, all advice from public literature seemed to have been ignored and the focus was on avoiding triggering a borderline personality episode which in turn was feeding the BPD sense of entitlement. Effort was on trying to get the reasonable party to concede and not triggering a BPD outburst, even though it meant ignoring the kids' safety and dragging things longer than it should. This fiasco of a mediation ended up costing me an additional 2 full years of family court appearances to undo the damage. This meant huge legal fees and it took a toll on my health. I am convinced that a significant part of it could have been avoided should due diligence had been done prior to mediation and best practices observed instead of focusing on soothing the BPD.Cases like mine aren’t outliers and literature is plentiful. At such a high hourly rate, I expect results. And if the task at hand is at a deadlock, it should be aborted instead of wasting the client's money. On a positive note: billing was extremely accurate. I was billed for every single minute.

We used Rachelle in a couple areas and have never been so at ease for such complicated life issues. The anxiety family Law brings is difficult enough and Rachelle has been our saving grace throughout the process while being realistic and keeping us focused. Rachelle will not waste your money or your time and is a straight shooter. Rachelle is tasteful and focuses on important facts and proof. We sincerely recommend Rachelle and her team.

I only decided to update this review based on a letter by Ms. Laforge threatening litigation as a result of my offering a 1 star review and thought I should be more details and actual information. To be clear, this is a review on Ms. Laforge and not necessarily that of Laforge Beaulieu LLP. If anybody is interested in factual details of my review, I would be happy to share these details to those interested. While I was not directly a client of Ms. Laforge, I did pay for her services and as such can provide my and detailed honest opinion as to the quality of her work.My case with Ms. Laforge was for updating child support because her client stopped working. While the opposing party (me) offered to pay the new child support amounts, Mrs Laforge would not respond to any and all attempts made by myself to update child support or to provide disclosure. The quality of Mrs. Laforge's work left a lot to be desired, most of the information was incorrect, inaccurate to completely wrong. While Ms. Laforge was aware of these facts, she submitted factually incorrect information, which requires additional costs, legal fees and lost court time because of the poor quality of her work.In the case I was involved with Mrs. Laforge, the value of the entire litigation was at most $7K - $8K. Mrs. Laforge charged in excess of $19,000 for her services to her client, far exceeding the value of the litigation. While this seems completely outrageous, it is either completely fraudulent or does not represent any fiscally responsible litigation (DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS) I don't know how somebody could be happy with her services when the outcome of the litigation was far less than the money involved. The fact that Ms Laforge tries to market herself as a collaborative family lawyer seems to be a joke. I can honestly say that the impact of her actions have been devastating to me, my family and my child. She should be ashamed of herself and the irreparable harm she inflicts on children. It is my opinion that she will spend her client's money with blatant disregard to the impact and outcome to the child and all those involved. It is a tragedy that this behaviour is tolerated and accepted in our legal system.People, hug your children and really hope you don't come across such a lawyer, it will be the worst possible outcome for your children. Perhaps you might get a few extra dollars, but is it really worth the well being of your children?
