Mango Mama

We had the mango sago. The small size was bigger then expected. I liked the sweet mango chunks in the drink and thought overall the drink was nicely infused with mango flavor. We also had the snowy mango fluffy ice. My daughter thought there was wasn’t enough mango flavor to the dessert and that the mango chunks were sweet but no mango flavor.

When you live in Richmond and you’re too lazy to go drive down to Vancouver for Hui Lau Shan, @mangomama’s got you covered. This cafe located across from Aberdeen centre offers a wide variety of Cantonese-style 糖水 desserts. (What are you even supposed to call “tong shui” in English?)They have options like mango sago, shaved ice, and even bird’s nest soups. Flavour-wise, I prefer this place over the other mango dessert options available in the city because of its consistency in fresh mangos. Some of the other places I’ve tried have served some really sour mangos in the past The prices are however on the higher end and the service is basically non-existent, but worth visiting every once in a while to satisfy that Hong Kong dessert craving

Paid $20 for their dessert here, definitely understand the price since it’s mangoes from the Philippines. However, it just was not sweet enough, definitely needed more condensed milk and then maybe the price with be justifiable. Better dessert places out there

Tasty mango sago and durian with shaved ice & ice cream desserts. Expect to pay a lot though; about $25+ for the two desserts! The durian was very pungent, but likely just frozen durian. There are also other Chinese style desserts, milk tea and fruit type drinks.I came in on a weekday night with less people. No rude wait staff and food came promptly. Lots of seating space for groups of 4-8.

Had a pretty good tasting mango coconut drink. This review however isn't about the drink, it's about the pricing and the suspect business practice where they hide the pricing of many of their items on their menu (including pictured item). I guess can always see online but the menu that contained the ordered drink and other items only provided pictures and descriptions. I have a good idea of why that may be...2 large mango coconut sago drinks costed $32 CAD. That is outrageous. The drinks were fine and all but that's so expensive I would highly recommend no one go to this establishment. Many other reviews mention exact same issue of ridiculous pricing for other menu items as well.No idea if this place is a money laundering front or whatever (joke), but yeah I thought maybe I had ordered something else, perhaps a large dessert with this drink and a few other items since I was caught off guard by the cost. But nope just a 16-20 ounce drink.A Whole Mango is nearby at Yao Han center and a similar drink is less than half the cost and probably just as good if not better. In fact you can buy 4 coconut mango drinks for only a few dollars more than one large at Mango Mama.If you want to be robbed, go here. If you don't, go anywhere else. I am not the type to write negative reviews or many reviews in general, so this is really saying something. Probably should be a 1 star reviewPlease just lower your prices to be more in line with competition, and or make your portions and quality incredibly good if you're going to be charging trillions of dollars for basic drinks.

Pricey mango items.My dad introduced me explaining it's a high end drink option since they import their mangos.I balked a bit on the price! $16 for a large drink.I ended up sharing one wth my partnerIt was tasty but super thick. I don't think I'd drink a whole one by myself but it was nice to share.

The place was empty when we went around 7:00pm - service was quick and friendly and the dessert we got was good, but pricey. We got the mango juice dessert with mochi, mango chunks, and mochi. It was a bowl that's big enough for one person, we thought it'd be enough for two since it was $12.95, but we were wrong. Other than the price, this place would be quite good!

Terrible food and “fresh press mango juice”. The “fresh press mango juice “ has to add $2.5 when u order food, so disappointed as they call themselves Mango mama, it tastes like mango Syrup mix with water, Del Monte mango juice taste much better than that. Food is normal. I think the owner has changed.

Happened to be in the area and chose this place over next door because they accept credit cards. We had their signature mango desserts with fluffy shaved ice and mango......omg! So good, they had mango balls that pops in your mouth with mango juice gushing out...totally not expected. Def come back again. 2 staffs there tonight, one was super nice and the other one didn't want to have anything to do with us. Updates: went back the third time last night and ordered Durian Saigo M2 on the menu, amazingly good. They were generous with the amount of durian put into the Saigo....wow can't get enough desserts from this place. The service was really good. Enjoyed it so much, I'll be sharing it with all my friends.

Mango pudding was meh, would not try again. Mango cake was good, would come back and order again.
